Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Gigas

yes b/c it beats LC(in theory) and has good all around matchup cept Champ and SOME G-dos lists(which are likely to fall in popularity) so yes.

Do you think regigigas is a good play for states? discuss.

In a sense, yes. But it's on the stipulation of 'if you know what you're doing'.

If you're asking whether it's a good play for states, then you probably don't know what you're doing. Therefore, in this context, no.

Just in theory. Promocroak and Power Spray hurt Gigas and both are in a standard LC build.

look guys i've never played anyone who can properly wield a regigigas deck

Gigas doesn't just "beat LC in theory", it freaking beasts Luxchomp. It was best with Azelf MT, but chugs along just fine without it, if a little hampered at times.

How does it work? Try playing a few games against a 100-160 HP wall without any use of your Pokemon Powers, then get back to me!

The only issue I see going into states is the very real presence of Gengar Prime. Each time you Sacrifice, you end up dumping a Pokemon in the Lost Zone, and you're unable to keep the lock going because you run out of Mespirits. You get a max of 4 turns of lock once the Gengars start flowing, which isn't too hard thanks to Spiritomb (Though the loss of Uxie does hurt if you can start the lock ASAP).

I would argue the Hurl to be the big issue.

Imagine say, setting down your Gigas, then using Set Up. You draw into Gigas X. Awesome, right?

Now you've gotta last a whole turn against a possible hurl, and god forbid if they tech in a Mime to check out your hand or Looker's you.

That kind of thing can happen to any deck that plays lvl x's though . This is the reason why gengar prime is a problem card in the format.

If you know what you are doing, which 90% of Gigas players do not, then Gigas is one of the MOST formiddable decks in the Meta.
That is only if you are someone who knows how to truly run it.

Most decks running Level X's don't rely on the Level X as badly as Gigas, though. For example, if someone LZ's one of my Luxrays, I'll likely either switch to Chomp or have another Luxray anyways.

Likewise of Sablelock and Vilegar. DialgaChomp is really the only other 3-1 Level X build, but it can hold its own unleveled against Gengar Prime that it can pretty much Deafen things to death. Gigas can't do it, at least not as fast as Dialga can.

This is just wrong. Yeah, yer a 100-160 hp wall....but you're weak to fighting. A promocroak and a couple flashbites takes care of your "tank". Even if you belt him, a belted promocroak ohko's you no matter what. Obviously you can counter again with uxie x, but lc wins the match easily if both players are taking prize for prize. You have to always have a tank out, when luxchomp attacks with 1-2 energies.

Power Spray? Even with your junk arm/ssu/mesprit engine, it's tough to keep a long term power lock against sp. Gigas is a pretty good choice for states, but the matchup is still in LC's favor.

Myaybe but what if you hit gyrados with HID i mean your argument might be more valid for certain decks. Although in the end every deck has some sort of big hitter they need to win. Even lux chop trying to win without gar or lux is a extreme hill to climb.
