Ok so after starting up pokemon i find out BTS is about to cycle out. Im a huge fan of longer games and deep decks. Iv played and left alot of card games when the games start to end after 4-5 turns. Like for example the Mr mime out of MT was a hard loss lol. I feel that decks are gonna start being aimed at quick wins. With BTS going i feel that stage 2 decks will be all but gone, that and the fact that theres a new rule with rare candy(dont know what it is yet but i know its not a plus) it seems like stage 2 decks are just gonna fall even more. I know Luxchomp will be gone but but with BTS out it would take way to long to .... do anything. Now i may be mislead or just wronge but from what im reading thats the way it is. So what i ask is if theres anyway around it. with no BTS the slowking, alakazam lock up deck i was wanting to make a list for seems like a waste of time. Even the charzard list i was wanting to do just seems to slow compared to any donk deck or early set ups like garados, umm any other turn 1-6 win decks as i said im new and dont know em all. Anyway so what are some new things i can look into for the support i need. Does anyone think BTS will be reprinted, or is there a replacement in place? I know this is a lil in the future like 2-3 months or something but i dont wanna sink anymore money if the kinda decks i like to build are gonna cycle out. So anyone that knows please fill me in.

Also on a side note im ot saying any of my above decks will be Huge winners and im saying that luxchomp going is a GOOD thing not a bad one lol building me and my wifes first decks mine is gonna be a charzard with my own touch and wifes is gonna be a fralagator rain dance deck(she likes water and hes easy to get) so please dont flame over the decks as my example the decks will be more competive when i get more competive thou ANY advice on either deck would be greatly welcomed! (mainly raindance deck, dont realy know what im doing with that one) thanks alot to anyone willing to answer and thanks to anyone willing to tell me how it is :thumb:

We don't KNOW that BTS will cycle out. What you have been hearing is just people having a guess.

Even if it does, it doesn't necessarily mean that Stage 2 decks are dead. They were successful before we had BTS, and they will be successful after. The decks of the past - Gardy/Gallade, Metanite, numerous Flygons, Rock Lock, Raindance . . . they dominated whole formats without the need for BTS, which we have only had since Platinum.

Rotation is a fact of life with Pokemon. It's just something we have to work with.

For all we know, Charizard could be good after the rotation (it will get Emboar for Energy acceleration and with Uxie gone, it will have the best draw engine in Ninetales). On the other hand, fast Basic/Stage 1 decks like Zekrom or Cinccino could dominate . . . who knows?

If you like set up decks your biggest worry isn't what's leaving the format . . . it's what's coming in (Pokemon Catcher).

BTS gone and Candy nerved will finally give us longer games, this rule is nessesary and awesome!
With sp gone everyone will be slow, games wont be about opening hands anymore.

And I certainly hope well never see BTS again ever ever ever!

BTS and candy I think will be fine we still have spirit tomb just means you can't get broken things like gengar prime out on turn 1 which is good . I really look forward to the meta next format I still do hope we don't cycle all the way too HGSS i hope its up to RR.

BTS was fine, and probably has been the saving grace for stage 2 decks through all this time. In fact, it kind of replaced Rare Candy in a lot of ways. I just wish the other stadiums in format weren't so bad.

Snowpoint was good.

Raindance held its own against haymaker when PTCG first started, and that was when all we had was breeder. By nats, the situation will be pretty much the same as it was before modified was introduced. Beatdowns (haymaker/luxchomp) will rear its head everywhere, but fast evos (/copycat/gyarados) will continue to hold reliably, and some stage2s (raindance/vilegar) will still pop up. And above all, disruption will be king again (removal/gust/catcher). Plus, no moreseparation of powers and bodies, just plain Ability (or pokemon power, from times of old).

It's all nostalgia from this point on. Get used to it.

BTS was necessary for evolved decks to keep up with SP, but it gave far too much speed. If SP is out, we don't need BTS any more, and if you like long games, you'll be glad when it's gone. I just hope to keep Spiritomb. =/

Yup thats probally the reason why BTS and LW are worth 6-10 each their the only playable ones.

Quite funny I thank your post, knowing that I play LuxChomp and have never played the older games (I played HGSS-on). I have played on the GameBoy, but that was when I was stupid lol.
But I would really love to have a format like this. I just hate how LostGar is going to make most of the new B/W decks seem not as good as they should be. I wanna play Serperior (and probably will) when B/W is released and my LC gets rotated, but LostGar is kinda annoying. I hope some anti-LG card is released in future BW sets. I want to play with Stage 2s. Never have. I did make a little VileGar deck, but it wasn't as fun as playing my LC (since I actually have to think LOL) but I would love to play a Serperior deck in a slow and steady format.
Really looking forward to B/Ws release (a lot) and hopefully PL rotating out.
And if PL doesn't rotate out, then I'll be ok, since I can use my LC cards and stuff for another year xD

Dosle, believe me, I WANT BTS to stay. PL on will be the most healthy. No Uxie/Sableye/Machamp/Gengar, so the format will slow down, but we keep BTS and SP stays good, so, with fewer dominant decks, more obscure decks can appear imo.

So basically SP wins the format i think ill pass platinum needs to go.

You want SP to stick around at nearly its full potential, while nerfing rare candy? Yeah, they lose Uxie, and it hurts. Everything else loses Uxie and it hurts. They still have the Cyrus engine.

And to be honest, I'd like to play with some different cards.
Like many others have said before, games are currently determined by opening hands. It's not fun. I've experienced this many times at school with my friend. It's be great to play in a format that is slow and you don't have to worry about sudden things like "galatic switch, cyrus, e gain, attach nrg, poke turn, level up, healing breath, rush for game herp derp".

That's a really good opening hand you have there. I don't know what kind of shuffling magicks you've been applying, but I never get that >:\

Compared to 'Tomb, attach Call.
