How Make High Quality Proxy Cards?

I would like to start using proxies to test decks out before I try going for the real cards as it might turn out I buy a card for 5$, and turns out it does not work in the deck. Anyways, I hear people download Pokemon card scans online print them out and use them and/or just use other worthless cards they have. My question is, how do you print out one of the scans and still have the same feel of it as a real Pokemon card(for more realistic shuffles)? My friend printed out a Flygon Lv.X and just glued the paper onto a worthless card he owned, the only problem with this is that he ruined the worthless card he had (something I do not wish to do to all my "worthless" cards.) and the Flygon proxy itself sorta faded pretty quickly and became hard to read the text. My friend has shown me fake cards that he got(for free) from some friends at his school, and they are really realistic! They have the same feel as a real Pokemon card! I guess it is the paper you use to make the cards but you probably have to have a special printer for that. So how do you suggest I could use proxies without knowing they are the proxy cards? You know like you look at your deck with "Pokemon" on the back, and you see a white piece of thin paper sticking out:frown::. Should I just tape the proxies onto worthless cards? Should I just use other cards and just remember they "Energy Search" is a proxy for Luxray Lv.X? Is it possible to use a regular printer to use the same kind of paper official Pokemon cards are made out of? Do you know another easier way? Or do you think I should use a combination of these methods? I would like the proxies to have the same "feel" as a regular card or at least enough so when I shuffle my deck and touch a proxy, I could not obviously tell it was a proxy.

If you have some Pokemon proxy smarts that you could spare, I would be very grateful. Thank you so much for a least reading this long post:smile:.

P.S I have sleeves I could use.

ANSWER:

rip a piece of paper, write the name of the card, slip a real card backwards into the sleeve so you can only see the back, slip the piece of paper in, then go on bebessearch.com to print off some references for the cards. this seems like the best solution for what I need thanks everybody!

What you do is get the card scats you want, resize them in a photo editor. I like Photoshop but gimp is fine, and print them off.

2 ways I do it.

1.) If I have at least 1 copy of the card, I will just use a Scanner/Copier and print off 3 other copies (works great for stuff like DCE, Supportors, Pokemon you want to test)

2.) copy an image of a card, then paste it in Photoshop, Photopaint, or even microsoft word. You'll have to experiment to get the right size to fit in a card sleeve, but once you do, save it, and keep it as a template for sizing future proxies.

It sounds to me like you need sleeves. Just print it out and slip it in with any card. That's really the easiest way to do it. Or just scribble a card name on a spare energy card or something and have a scan on your Ipod or whatever close by for when it comes up. What you described is getting a little close to counterfeiting.

^ Exactly.

I just use backwards cards/cards with pieces of paper in them that say what the cards are. :p

^ I do the same.

I just rip a piece of paper, write the name of the card, slip a real card backwards into the sleeve so you can only see the back, slip the piece of paper in, then go on bebessearch.com to print off some references for the cards that I proxy. Hope this helps.

Thanks, this seems like the best way. :thumb:

There's no point in doing the paper ripping thing when you can go to BebesSearch.com and have decent-quality photos of the cards in seconds.
