Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Live US Nationals Coverage

Hey everyone, we're working on uploading videos from the day right now. Please let us know what you would like to see covered besides standings (which haven't been posted at all after rounds) and deck popularity because we weren't sure what else to do! Thanks!

Yeah, essentially just knowing who is doing well (maybe with some Interviews with the undefeated players) and deck popularity is the most important.

I know that this is missing a round but I thought this was at least somewhat interesting.

At the gold round 7 parings there were only a few handfuls of those who went 5-0. So I just decided to gather them together and post them for those of us who are stuck back at the homefront:
Andrew K.
Franco P.
Frank D.
Jackson I.
Johnpaul A.
Kevin N.
Marcus M.
Martin M.
Michael S.
Mike M.
Mitchel S.
Robert S.
Ryan M.
Santiago R.
William M.

A big thanks to Top Cut for the tweetpics.

^Congratulations to all of those people! However, it would be great if we could get the decks they were playing along with the names.

-How Crim is playing no Comms and is 5-1? Godly IMO
-Well known players' performances
-Rogues doing well?

Keep up the great work guys!

I'm 4-1, played a nice mix of decks.
I got to play a vileplume serperior, 2 magneboars, a donchamp, and a yanmega kingdra.

So far nearly every deck I've seen includes either Reshiram or Yanmega in one way or another. Personally I've faced two Emboar variants, a Typhlosion/Reshiram, and a Mew (with Jumpluff/Muk)/Yanmega/Vileplume. We're seeing a lot of decks include Yanmega; common partners are Magnezone, Kingdra, and Donphan. Of course, Reshiram is paired with either Typhlosion or Emboar, both of which are being played quite a bit. I haven't noticed any rogue decks doing well yet besides a Mew/Yanmega/Combee piloted by Jimmy Ballard.

Crim forgot to list 4 Communication and has had to play with 4 Fighting Energy instead since Round 4. He has managed to go 5-1 somehow. I'm also 5-1. Here are some records that I know of.

Drew Holton: 3-1 drop to protect rating
Michael Pramawat: 4-2
Ben Potter: 5-1
Matt Alvis: 5-1
Chuck: 5-1
Ness: 3-3
Martin Moreno: 6-0
Matt Moss: 3-3
Steve Silvestro: 4-2
Mikey Fouchet: 5-1
Kyle L.: 5-1

You said he went 5-1 and 4-2 in the same post ??

Also, why fighting energy and not fire?

edit: nevermind im dumb....crim does not = pram ;p

Crim is not pram. Also, there is a rogue doing well. A bunch of Californias are running a vileplume varient, i'm not sure how they're all doing but one is 5-1 and one is 4-2

how are you doing? i'm failing at 3-3. The last round I decked going for the win after time was called. It was 1-1 prizes and my last energy was my last prize.

Is it worth playing with a 3-3?

If you're in a situation where you have to protect your rating, I would've dropped a while ago, but if that's not the case, just play to have fun.

nah. im not going to worlds. they were saying that like 15 6-3's on both sides will make it, but i don't think that's accurate

So far I'm 4-2 and yanmega is EVERYWHERE I played 4 games so far against it and the other two were gengar prime variants but the format is still better than what we did have and there are a lot of unique decks I've seen
