I am here at the 2012 National championship and nobody staffing the event seems to want to help me with my issue: I can't concentrate on my match with the music playing in the background. If one of the head judges is reading this, or someone who can contact some person high up in managing this event, please take off the music for day two of Nats

And for the sake of our sanity (and records) PLEASE don't run some obnoxious VGC opening ceremony in the middle of a round....I don't mind the music so much, but the VGC ceremony last year was distracting and obnoxious as a TCG player.

I enjoyed the music and felt it helped me focus throughout the day. I also enjoyed the atmosphere it gave.

I think the issue with music is that some people LOVED it and some hated it. There's no middle ground, sadly. You either play music or you don't. Turning it down would be akin to not playing it at all. Honestly, between the rounds, it added to the mood of the tournament, but I didn't enjoy it during rounds.

I'd highly recommend you pop emails and talk to polo-shirts. They are VERY busy, but if you can get one of them, you'll get one of them, they'll listen. They're there to make nats the best event it can be, and they always appreciate criticism. I'd also recommend you tell them how awesome they're doing... because this nats has to be one of the best nats ever. They deserve a pat on the back :D

The point is, don't be afraid to give criticism... they're there for us as players, so make sure they know how we all feel as a group.

Hmmm, I noticed the music, but never in the middle of a match. I guess I just tuned it out, so it didn't bother me at all.

Not everyone has the same taste in music. So a amicable solution is to not play any music.

Yes, I am very happy that the VGC was not as obnoxious as usual. I guess the person in charge of that matured over the years. :thumb:

They should have "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood on a continuous loop during the tournament.

I can totally understand some players not wanting to hear music. Would it be better if they restricted it to just instrumental pieces?

Nationals. Bigger, Louder, and UnCut. I wants me some musica when I plays. Makes me feel good. Just as long as it's not techno-babble that most pop is these days...

For me, the hall is far loud enough as it is without music playing. It's just more background noise to me, and I could do without it.
