MEGA-RAFFLE (Saturday Only): This raffle is becoming a NW tradition at States and Regionals, and once again we have some FANTASTIC items. You get an entry slip when you register for the TCG tournament!!! This year we’ve made it possible to get more entries than ever before, and they’re all FREE. You get another ticket in each of the first four rounds of the TCG tournament. You get tickets for side event activities and League play. Bring a player that has never played in Regionals before and you both get another entry.

Here are some of the things you can enter to win:
  1. A Booster Box (36 packs) of Dragons Exalted
  2. 550 TCGO code cards each good for a booster pack in the trading card on-line game
  3. Black & White Prerelease Kit with the Promo items from each of the seven B&W sets as well as some booster packs from each set
  4. Trading Card Game Player’s Kit with lots of useful items like deck boxes, play mats, sleeves, dice and much more

LEAGUE PLAY (Saturday and Sunday): Come to our League Play area and battle before, after and between rounds of the main tournaments. Best of all you can earn free stuff for those battles, both TCG and VG - THAT'S RIGHT, every one of your battles entitles you to a pick from the card box at the League Headquarters. In the box are hundreds of Pokemon cards from years past, BUT sprinkled throughout the box are some special cards that get you great Pokemon prizes! (games played in the main tournaments do not count)

CREATIVE CENTER (Saturday and Sunday): Express yourself in our Creative Center with drawing, puzzles and other artistic activities. We provide the supplies, you bring the talent and creativity!

BOOSTER DRAFT TOURNAMENTS (Sunday Only): We have some boxes of Dark Explorers, Dragons Exalted and Boundaries Crossed that can be used for 8-person booster draft tournaments on Sunday. Pay an entry fee of $20.00 and get six boosters to draft. You will then build a 40-card deck. All these cards are yours to keep. Energy will be provided (we will need the energy returned after the tournament). After putting together your deck (you have 30 minutes to do this), you will play 20-minute rounds in a Swiss style tournament (everyone plays in all rounds). Prizes will be boosters from the same set you drafted: 1st place – 4 packs, 2nd place – 3 packs, 3rd place – 2 packs, 4th to 8th – 1 pack. Entry Fee - $20.00

Hotel Information:
SHILO INN and SUITES - Salem
3304 Market Street NE
Salem, OR

Group Name - Pokemon Regional Tournament
On-line booking discount code - POKE

You can call the hotel directly (503-581-4001) or the toll free reservation line (800-222-2244). Tell them you want the Pokemon Regional Tournament group rate. They are offering a double queen or single king room at $70 per night plus tax. That's about $30 less than the posted rate and cheaper than you could get from one of the discount sites like hotels.com.

If you want to book on-line that will work as well. Just go to the Shilo website, use the discount code POKE and the group rate should come up.

Hey BDS, I may be coming in to play in the Northwest from New York, since I'm pretty sure the Northeast doesn't have a Regionals in the winter. Are there any block rates for hotels in the area? Are there any good hotel deals that could save me some money? I called into the Monaco International and put down a reservation for now, but I was hoping to find something a little cheaper.

Thanks!

Is this in a different location this year? The location name seems different, but maybe I'm crazy. Well, I KNOW I'm crazy, but...

I'll be setting up a Pokemon rate at the Shilo Inn which is one of the closest hotels to the fairgrounds. It may be a few weeks before that is in place though.

Our normal location is booked in January for a home show, so yes, this is a new venue. The pavilion has the same amount of floor space, but it is a sporting arena/concert venue so it also has a couple thousand seats located around the floor. We'll see if we can make Pokemon a spectator sport!

oh darn, not going to be here. will be in afghanistan. well, as long as there is still one in october, i can still play at one.

The Pavilion Bldg. is nice, and it does have a nice venue option as the Jack-Long Bldg. No "up close" parking like the JL Bldg., but the seats around the floor space will be great to have for the spectator's and lunch time.

Also asking if the VGC is on day 2 like last time. If so, I will add the info into the VG Regionals area on this site.

Do we know anything about the VGC format? Will in be Black2/White2 game cartridges exclusively or will Black/White cartridges be allowed? In other words, how much VG playing do I have to do in the next few months?

Black 2 / White 2 cartridges exclusively is the answer I received a few months ago. Makes sense because Black and White cannot see Therian formes making for a somewhat confusing visual experience (especially on TVs at Nationals). They haven't released anything else about the ruleset however.
