First you give us this-
Why not have grinders in the US?

Then you give us this-
Worlds should be east west US yearly

Now you give us this-
I told you the best players were not at worlds. Masters was lost on a misplay. He had a chance to win the mewtwo war and lost because he did not take out mewtwo with darkrai. Seniors and juniors were no different. Most of those players there did nothing in major tournaments. They got there playing a zillion battle roads and cities which gave more points then they should have. If pokemon does not lower the points from battle roads and cities and make states regionals and nationals more important in getting an invite and stop putting worlds in places only the rich can afford to go, then this will continue.
And Jay should have been given the trophy as those guys who played the finals used his deck. Most players there used his deck.
Here we go again
The title of this thread is “Worst Worlds Ever!”, for starters, were you even there? Based on the content of this thread and your other threads I am thinking you were not. Have you even ever been to Worlds before? No matter what your answers are, The World Championships include so much more then the players on the main event roster… there is the LCQ, side events, prizes, swag bags, retail store, judges/staff, spectators, the social interaction, the cross-culture interaction, FUN, and so much more. The World Championship, overall, is a once a year EXPERIENCE. For you to say that this Worlds 2012 is the “Worst Worlds Ever!”, just by citing your opinion about the player roster, is an INSULT to THE PLAYERS, TPCI/P!P, and the EVENT itself. In THREE THREADS you have yet to say one thing positive about anything Pokémon related. You are only concerned with invite structure and who won/loss.
Can you PLEASE explain to us which of the "best players" were not at worlds? You are making the claim that the players at Worlds won a "zillion" Battle Roads and Cities and these tournaments are the reason they are there. You have yet in THREE THREADS, where you make the same argument, to provide examples of players who did this. Can you? If you can name these players, can you blame the players? Pokémon set the standards for making it to Worlds. When you make the same point OVER and OVER and for a third time OVER again you are basically telling the players “YOU DON’T DESERVE TO BE THERE”. Is that really a message you want to be sending?
Do you even know who “the best players” are? Have you seen every single player in the world play, no you haven’t. Even if you did how do you measure who is the best players are? Isn't possible that “the best players” were just beat by lesser known, but equally worthy players, and didn't earn an invite to worlds because of it. So often in this game: lesser known, new, or international (from the United States perspective) players have tournament success and the Pokémon community feels robbed because the “big name player” got beat. Is this a game where only the “big names”, “veteran” or the “good local player YOU personally know” can win? When threads like this are created, you question the legitimacy of the tournament especially when: lesser known, new, or international players win. Three non-American players won Worlds in each of the three TCG age divisions this year and the runner ups were virtually unknown at-large in the Pokémon Community as a whole. Most of us had no idea who these players were before today, now we do.
Now to address your gripe about the location of worlds. Yes Hawaii as been inconvenient for the community has a whole, but, there have been SEVEN other World Championships where it has been more convenient, at least for the United States players. No matter where players come from, players could easily drop $500-$1000 for just hotel for 4 to 5 nights. Now if you live within a days drive distance you might be able to save on transportation, but for EVERYONE ELSE, easily more then 80% of the community, you will drop triple digits for air fare, quadruple for most international players. We all know that most players will have to shell out a decent amount of money to attend worlds, there is no way to appease ALL players, especially considering that Worlds is an international game and we (different countries) are THOUSANDS of miles apart. pokedad1, can you at least acknowledge the fact that no matter where Worlds is, that MOST players will face a financially hurdle to get to Worlds and that is not only a “rich” person thing.
Finally your deck issue gripe, this will be quick. This format has a lot of strong basic Pokémon that dominate the format, there are a lot of combinations and variations. Darkrai ex and Mewtwo ex are two of the best cards. It was bound that multiple players will see this combination and roll with it. Just because Jay played it, doesn’t make the deck his.
