Official PTCGO Suggestion Thread.

My goal of this thread is similar to Pooka's thread(Official PTCGO Bug Thread). However, instead of reporting bugs/glitches so that the programmers of the PTCGO can easily read to fix the program, this thread is intended to provide feedback and personal suggestions about the PCTGO so that we the Pokemon TCG community have a much more enjoyable online experience. That being said, please keep your suggestions simple, easy to read, and with the intent that whoever is in charge of the PTCGO can easily view your idea and add it in. Also, try not to comment on someone's idea--I want the developers to be able to browse through this thread hoping to learn new ideas.

My first suggestion is that I would like to view the playing field with an overhead look. Similar to Playtcg.me, I find an overhead view of the playing field much more pleasant and easy to view all the cards on the playing field. Furthermore, it would be much more beneficial if my opponents cards were facing me.

Seconded. I find it annoying that I can't clearly see the opponent's cards without zooming in.
 
Regarding the OP's suggestion, I would prefer it if there was a choice then between what you would and how it currently is, personally for me I like it how it is, but wouldn't mind it if they add in other options for it to be changed.

What I would like is for the collections to be made a bit nicer and a bit more easy to see what you have got and need, if anyone has played the Madden NFL Facebook game then something similar to how collections are in that is what I would like.

The biggest suggestion I'd have is to push for trading functionality as quickly as possible. Trying to find every card you need from 2 new sets is difficult when you keep opening things you don't need, and can't trade them away. With 120+ codes, I found it difficult to put together a functional deck at all, and as such haven't been playing as much as I anticipated. Very hard to enjoy the program to the fullest without trading.

Aside from that, making the toolbar more intuitive would be great. I spent quite a while trying to figure out how to friend people, as it's under the section 'Chat', a better name for the icon would be 'Community'. I'm still having difficulty figuring out how to friend people I haven't played against, though. I can search for them, but if I do, it just shows the ignore and defriend options, even though they aren't my friend. If anyone can help here, I'd appreciate it!

The default card viewing as carousel seems odd as well. It does look a bit flashy, but the card info is obscured on anything other than the center card, and it shows less cards per section. Tile as default seems like it would be easier to navigate. Or, being able to set a default - as well as being able to save filter settings.

As an addition to OPs suggestion - while I'm searching for cards, or choosing something for a card effect(EX Diving Draw), I'm often unable to see the field, and can't zoom in on cards that aren't obscured. If I'm trying to make a choice based on my opponent's board I'm unable to most of the time. Making the window movable, and allowing normal zooming function on cards while searching/deciding would be very helpful.
 
First suggestion, make it so you have to have a BW-on deck to play on expert.
Second, obviously try to get the trading function working. It took me over 400 codes to get competitive decks built, and I got pretty lucky with the packs I opened.
 
One of the things that irritates me to no end is the Energy placement. Most of the time I cannot see how many or which types of Energy are attached to a Pokémon, and there's not really a good way to find out. Please fix this! Either space the Energy out more or give a better view of the table.

I've been encountering similar problems where if I have a large evolution line or a pokemon with a tool attached on the bench, energy moving like energy switch or dark trance become impossible because the energy is obscured by all the other cards.
 
Can we either get Rescue Scarf banned or fixed please? Whichever is fastest and would make my block list much shorter.

One of the things that needs to be fixed immediately is the code redemption system. There needs to be some option to "redeem all" once you have spent the time entering all of the codes. Once you type every individual one, you have to click the box, click redeem, and then click "OK" after an unnecessary screen pops up. Allowing users to claim multiple codes at once is necessary; you can sit there for an hour just going through this process if you have hundreds of codes.

This shouldn't be hard for them to implement. As I've shown.
 
QR scanning needs to work, and it needs to work well. The last iteration of it didnt work at all for me with my laptop cam, and I know its possible to make it work, since there are browser based QR scanners that work out there.

I second the Rescue Scarf banning or fixing. Already lost a match because someone RSed their Mewtwo so I effectively had 8 prizes to take.
 
Made a thread about this by accident, didn't see this thread but.. Can they please make it so Basic Yellow is not allowed on Expert? Anyone else agree?
EDIT: Three Basic Yellow in a row.. FML
 
On expert games, there must be a way to pair people according to their win percentages. This would get rid of the problem that is playing basic yellow all day, unless there is someone that is REALLY good with basic yellow
 
My biggest complaint(along with others) is that there needs to be an option to go bw-on. I lost 3 games today just to the fact that he had junk arm. Super annoying.

Well technically they are right to not put it BW-On yet because the rotation hasn't happened yet...
But yes I do agree they need to have an option to play Bw-on or not.
