As always, I think some posters are upset and are letting their emotions get the best of them, resulting in rude posts that don't solve anything. The Pokemon community has never really been known for getting things done in the most elegant way possible.

I do think it's fair to expect to know this kind of information before mere days before Battle Roads though, and I hope that the posts here, even if a lot of them are misguided, encourage TPCI to release this information to the public earlier than usual next year.

Thanks for the info Biggie. Do we have any word on when the rest of the information for this season will be released?

Way to take this seriously like an adult.
Well given that you already know that I can't give you a in depth rundown of the internal workings of the company, Im not sure what you want me to say. The part where I came on here to share what I could and apologize for the timing was the part where I responded seriously.

The comment above was in response to demands that I explain why my whole company sucks so bad. Problem is that I personally don't think that we suck at everything we do and I have this crazy notion that people should always make an effort to treat each other with respect and tact if they want to be taken seriously especially if they are angry. But hey, maybe that's just me.

It doesn't help that I take the definition of brash to an entirely different level.

Trust me, I'm trying REALLY hard to keep my posts, well, family friendly.

I don't think you understand the problem then. You shouldn't be releasing this information bits at a time . You should release it all together in a timely fashion. (And a timely fashion would have been much earlier than now.)

You know, you've convinced me. Next time we will just keep our yaps shut until the official announcement.:thumb:

Why doesn't TPCI just hire a community director representative or whatever fancy title you can come up with, who's entire job is communicating to fans?

I know Blizzard isn't the star company of the universe, but they have official forums and have a dedicated person who answers people's questions (usually after enough people have commented in the topic, giving it necessary attention). It's pretty much the greatest thing to happen to that company, since they made a billion dollars off of World of Warcraft

You good to give up more scholarship money to fund that position?

Do you realize how unlikely the budget is SO TIGHT at Pokemon that it's either run the company in a more efficient way, or cut scholarships.

You have got to be kidding me.

You know TPCI pays TO's, per person that shows up at their events, for compensation, which is reasonable and understandable. How about shave a tiny bit of that money to be able to hire another person for a much needed position within the company?

The piece by piece information is definitely better than no information. (Still would've appreciated the 'piece' a week earlier). Thanks for posting Biggie.

That would be for the best, but come next season, it would be well suited to release ybe information much earlier, or at the very least give a date for when players can expect to receive the information.

I don't think it us any individuals fault working there, but rather a structural problem with how the company has chosen to handle public relations and their strategic communication.

I went to school for this stuff, and tpci could serve as a case study on bad pr. There is a ton of room for the company to improve in this area.

Biggie: There have been some disrespectful posts in this thread and thought I don't like much what TPCI has been doing, I figure that kind of thing won't get us anywhere. We're really just looking for a few answers to some questions.

I'd like if you could just offer simple explanations for the following actions. I figure if you could show the playerbase the company's reasoning it would be a positive for both sides. We understand where you're coming from, you gain trust.

-Why TO's get information before everyone else
-Why Top cut was ended for battle roads, yet CP was kept
-Why information has taken so long to get released (this one is a bit more general, but it does apply to a lot of things)
-Why prizes have been getting cut, and where the extra money is going (this one's a lot more difficult to answer. I somewhat understand if you skip this one)

If any players have any other reasonable questions, post them and I'll add to the list.

I'm trying to be respectful because the bridge between higher-ups and players has basically been nonexistent. Like I said before, I think it would be a step in the right direction for both sides if we could talk about these issues.

Thanks,
matt souerbry

...What?

PTOs do get paid...but not by any, any significant margin. Why should they get punished because you're impatient. You think that PR is important, and it is, but not nearly half as important as the people who actually run the actual tournaments.

I know plenty of TO's that would give up a fraction of their compensation if it meant fixing all the problems I listed.

Biggie I'm somewhere in the middle on this whole issue. As a competitive player the lack of information is very frustrating. I also fully understand that you work for a company and have a boss like everybody else. I'm sure you guys want to release more information, but simply can't do to NDA's. I'm also sure wanting to avoid the backlash from players if information released gets changed is another reason. If I as a player had a better understanding of why things take X amount of time or why X change gets made I would feel a lot better as well as have a better understanding. I know this isn't always possible once again due to NDAs but some understanding of the system as to why it takes so long to get info out or why top cut was removed from BRs would could along way.
