Sorry for the delay.....but the Plasma Storm version of Redshark (5.10 ) is now available for download now for both Windows and Mac.

Redshark download page

In addition to the Plasma Storm version, I've also added the cardscan files for these sets available for download via Redshark:

Dragon Vault
Boundaries Crossed
Plasma Storm

This version (like the previous) of Redshark has cardscan image functionality! It does require an internet connection to download the image files as they are not included in the installer.

Enjoy,
Mike

Sorry to be a potential downer, but is anyone else getting errors with the new patch?

Long story short, I'll go to play a card but the image my opponent sees on his end is of a different card, or no image at all. There are also "phantom images" of other cards being left on the screen. So is this just a "me" thing or is it happening to others?

Is this only happening in network games? or do you see it in dual-deck, solitaire games, too?

Is there anything consistent or reproducible about the behavior?

Thanks,
Mike

Could you maybe change the rotation option so that the no longer relevant promos don't display in the deck builder? For example, when you try to do BW-on, you get a few irrelevant Darkrai promos that aren't even legal anymore.

Also, would it be possible to make the search bar in the deck builder look for the entered text in the entire name of the card instead of just the start? e.g. right now if you want Pokemon Center, you have to type "Pokemon Ce" to get there since Catcher is in the way. If you make it search the whole card name, you'd just be able to type Center and be fine. This is also great for people who are used to PlayTCG, since I intuitively always type "Catcher" and "Juniper" and things like that.

Seems to only be happening in the network games. After a few turns, it becomes apparent that however the game recognizes cards in the other players hand (or perhaps deck), they are misaligned. Here were the two most common error messages:

pm_attach_from_lb classes to not match
list_check deck size error:
B local (13) net (12)
local: 52 35 3 18 21 49 26 5 34 31 25 41
net: 52 35 3 18 21 49 26 5 34 36 32 22
Sadly, I have never been able to get my Print Screen function to work on this computer. My opponent has sent you an e-mail with the errors from his side of things by now.

Less dramatic but possibly related glitches have occurred as well. The Prize Counter for Player B has been off (starting the game, it showed six Prizes but "counted" only five) both against a live opponent and against myself in a two deck solitaire game. Second, N would shuffle for my opponent in a solitaire game, but never in a Network. I am uncertain if it was played before or after the "glitches" started occurring.

Thank you again for your hard work on RedShark, Mike; been eagerly waiting for this and even having it for solitaire play is a huge benefit for testing.

After some testing, the problem appears to be caused by N. In multiplayer, N fails to shuffle the opponent's hand into their deck on their side, but it appears to do so on your side, causing problems with card order and number of cards remaining.

Ah, yeah. The intent when we were beta testing last version was to have N shuffle for both sides only in modes one and two, and to give a prompt before shuffling in modes three and four.

A quick note; the Prize Counter, as it hasn't been essential before (as I don't think the N command worked at all before now) has occasionally been off... since I started using RedShark last format. It just hasn't been high priority and is easy to miss. I don't know if it has "always" occasionally had this hiccup or if it has been fixed and just popped back up again. As N counts Prizes, it seems potentially relevant.

Thanks for feedback!

Thanks to all for your excellent feedback! I am actively working on squashing this "out of sync" bug in the network game.

Please stay tuned for further posts.

Thanks again,
Mike

Yes, it is within the "N" code that causes the bug, and as Legend remembered in his post, we thought about adding an "opponent acknowledge" aspect to the game when N was used in a network situation. In my haste to implement, I thought that I had figured out a way to get it to work without that, but....you know what happend.

Anyway, I will be posting a new installer in the next couple days (by 3/5/2013) that will, once again, have N be disabled for network games while I work out the bugs and game mechanics.

Thanks to Mekkah's feedback, I will also attempt to update the "Promo" set to only include the BW Promo cards, and I also plan to tweak the Deck Builder so the "card name search textbox" works in a more general manner (entered text does NOT have to be at the beginning of the card name) and the "card full text search textbox" (in filter section) will now include the actual card names.

Once again, thanks for important and TIMELY feedback...I'm looking forward to getting this bug corrected and throwing in these small enhancements ASAP!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I did some testing but wasn't able to reproduce it, but do remember noticing once during testing. After trying to unsuccessfully reproduce it, I put it on the "back burner". Please send me an email (link in redshark) if you can offer any additional insight into this rare, but existing, bug.

I have finished the new & improved Plasma Storm release of Redshark and it's available for download. Please see new post for info.

Sorry for the hiccup.
