The video is going to be down for about an hour. We're re-rendering it and re-uploading it so as to hopefully get it looking better.
 
Pablo, weren't you banned for a period of time awhile back? I could be wrong, so please correct me if I am, but if I'm not, then I think you got the memo years ago.

I was banned indeed, not for blatant cheating though. How something that happened 7 years ago is relevant today I do not know. Please stay on topic.

So you're telling me that you did something that is against the rules, whether intentional or not (hopefully unintentional) and now you want to start casting stones on someone else who's in the same boat? Well don't hog all the fun, please share with us the reason you were banned so we can start labeling you and singling you out as well. I'm sure that's a great feeling. Make sure to stay on topic though.

Pablo maned up and took responsibility for his actions (7 YEARS AGO). I don't think you can say anything that will make him singled out and/or feel bad, pretty sure this is far behind him now.

If you want to make a thread to discuss rule breaking in general and cite specific examples such has Pablo and other known suspended/previous suspended players go ahead, but how about we keep this thread about Canada Nationals and anything the occurred at Canada Nationals.

If players are caught on Video cheating I do not how they can be allowed to participate in Worlds. Might as well let everyone stack their deck before every match from now on if nothing is done about this.

Actually, I'd have to say that what he was doing was more of "Attempting to manipulate a random result." Although it wouldn't make any difference.

I know curtis is your friend and youre trying to defend him, but I suspected of fishy play for a while from him and others

Nothing is done about this doesn't necessarily mean banning from Worlds. I think the most common punishment suggested makes sense for this: disqualify the players from the tournament in question and remove all awarded prizes (CP, Trips, etc). However, that's up to the judges and TPCi I'd think.

Ok, I'd suspected it throughout this ordeal but I think this post cements it. You've being overly aggressive during this entire situation and I'm very sure it has to do with you taking this thread far too personally. I used to have quite a bit of respect for you from my dealings with you in the video game community but your behaviour through this situation has been pretty nasty. Seriously take a step back and relax. They (intentionally or not) cheated at a children's card game. They didn't murder your child.

Nobody's derailing from anything. I just thought it was interesting that someone put in the same spot years ago could turn around and throw out personal attacks so viciously.

I didn't say anything up until now, but since you want to talk about derailing, if you recall correctly, I was your top 32 opponent that year when you had to remove those cessation crystals. Although it was my first year playing, I still remember the exact words those judges said to me and what you said to me. They told me they made you had Japanese cards in transparent sleeves and you could easily tell which card was the cessation crystal and for only replacing your cards with energies...and a game 1 loss I think that's a pretty light punishment considering you had marked cards for the whole tournament. On top of that, I go and shake your hand before the match and all you had to say to me was "It's okay, I can win two in a row easily."

If you want to keep being sour about the past, that's fine, but to set the record straight, the Ontario Judges are professional and always try to do the right thing. Do they always? Of course not, mistakes happen. Should they probably have more card knowledge and know more rules about the game/ Probably, and that's something we should be looking to improve and fix for next season. Criticizing them and telling most of these volunteers that their spending 8 hour days just so they can potentially make the ONE ruling call that will swing in their friends favour is ridiculous.

If people want to discuss what happened at nats whether it's cheating or not that's fine. When you start with the personal attacks and insults that don't contribute to the thread at all, then somebody should say something. Try wrapping your mind around that.

I think that this community has every right to be upset about this. If you watch the video you can clearly hear Zach giving the judges attitude and I've been to many tournaments where he was in attendace and I know first-hand the rude attitude that comes from him sometimes. Is this ok? Of course nothing about this has been mentioned before now. If Pablo admitted to his cheating I think he shouldn't be harped on for his mistakes in the past. What I don't appreciate is the poor attitude displayed in the video when questionable shuffling methods were used. We're talking about unsportsman-like conduct on all fronts here.

As a player of the game for 5 years and a collector of the cards since the game started, I think I have eery right to be upset when our "top" players are cheating and they are the ones representing my country. I play this game for fun...the second it becomes about cheating one's way to the top and they're allowed to get away with it, I no longer want anything to do with it...

you blatantly went for pablo. and i know it wasnt you I played against, so thats a different situation whatever you are talkingg about. It was a top8 game 3, score was tied 1-1.
