Interesting! Other than the ones in Japan, has there ever been McDonalds promotions that gave out promos that wern't given out in North America?

I wish they would do more english promotions like this, especially in the UK...

I would be surprised though if this doesn't make its was to the US just because it is such a large market.

Definitely hope (and expect) it comes out here, but if it doesn't then that saves me eating fast food more often than I want to.

If they do come out here you don't have to eat the food. Just go in and tell them you want to buy just the cards.

Looks like it would be a good collection to grab right about now, and a good opportunity for French pokemon players to collect some extra cash.

call me when they release playable cards in these. the figures could be kinda cool i guess though

Any of them around where i live only charge $1.

The toy is usually the most expensive part of a restaurant's "kid's meal", at least at your typical fast food place. If you are getting it for $1, consider yourself lucky. ;-)

I am of a mixed feeling on that subject; if this is the only way to get such cards that would be pretty annoying. Using it as an "early" release or a re-release of potent cards would be fine. Given the history of the game... odds are we should just be grateful for the filler. =P

Problem is "playable" and "popular" usually only overlap in high-rarity cards (which they presumably do not want to make that easy to obtain, given they have only included Commons and Uncommons <and cards that would have been Common/Uncommon if they were in a regular booster> so far). Almost no commons/uncommons are both, except for occasional prevolutions of good cards. (Pignite from the last one, for example.) To be fair, a holo Dark Explorers Espeon is pretty nice. (It's actually a pretty solid support card.) They could have put a FEW more playable cards in, though, like Dragons Exalted Emolga or the Ascension (Dark Explorers) Zorua. Look on the bright side, we didn't get Bulbasaur.

Now that I think about it, this would be something nice to put out in December, so it's not a totally dead month as far as TCG merchandise goes. On the other hand, I would hate for this to be the last thing in my B&W binder, when Legendary Treasures would've been the perfect ending.
