Well , anyone who knows me knows i've been stressing over regionals. I didn't have a deck , I was 100 point out of 8th , and I was just very stressed.

Well , on Friday the Team Rocket crowd came down. I ended up building a Poli-Stall deck , and playeyd it untill 4am vs Brent(spaz). Keep in mind I was up at 7am the day before. I don't get to sleep cause I gotta take my sister to work for 4:30am.Right now it's 3am I've been up for about 44 hours. But here is my Southern Regional report!

On the ride over I told my dad we were both playing it. While I figured i'd go 3-4 or 4-3 and miss cut I knew I would regret it if I didn't play it because the deck has potential when it has the suprise factor...

Round 1 vs Jin Wang(Scizor)
I get a decent set , a few fossils and other various stuff. He gets a slow scizor out and my politoeds take fast controll of the game. I end up winning by 3-4 prizes

1-0

Round 2 vs Trent Chambers(Boom):
I know Bannette is a favorable matchup, Dunsparce + Cursed stone makes me happy in the pants.I get fast toad out and it's all but over

2-0

Round 3 vs (Forgot Name)(Flygon)
He get's a decent set but let's be honest... Polistall>>>>>>Flygon. Sorry but it's true....

3-0

Round 4 vs Parve(metanite)
Hehehe , I was happy when I saw this. Once again Polistall>>>>>Metanite Once again very true....

4-0

Round 5 vs David Hubbs(Meganium D)
This matchup was hard. Espeon D with t2 Meganium D (Water resistance). Somehow I manage to take 4 prizes to his none and win on time.

5-0

Round 6 vs Eric C(Absolutions)
I get jank hand and prize 2 poliwag and a dunsparce. I get thoroughly smashed

5-1

Round 7 vs Omar I(Rgon)
Hehehheehhehee , See round 3

6-1

Top 16 I'm in second seed behind Eric.

Top 16 vs Elizibeth Simmerman(Flaridos)

Long story short , I win game one because even after reading Holon Energy WP she didn't realize it didn't work on EX pokemon so she didn't gust up my Politoed EX.

In FL we have 1 hour and 1/2 finals. Well ,Game two took an hour and 15

7-1

Top 8 vs Miranda Craig(Delcatty/FlareonD)

I know the deck very well. I also know I got the most jank start ever.I copy cat ten and hit ZERO trainers. I look at the board and notice 3 EX with power , an eevee and 2 cattys I topdeck a scott get 3 Cursed stone and win this game without attacking.

Game 2: Pretty much repeat game 1 cept I attack

8-1

Top 4 vs John Silvestro(Sniper)(Polistall Also)

Yes I know , my dad made t4 with the same deck!!!!!!!!!!
Polistall mirror sucks

9-1

Top 2 vs Eric Craig(Absolutions)

Game 1: I win fast

This is it guys , I can feel it. I can taste it. I'm one game away from finally winning a regional

game 2: Loose

Game 3: Muligan 3 times , lone fossil start.

Congratulations Eric Craig on an 11-0 win.

I walk away with my 9-2 2nd place knowing my dad also got 3rd place. GREAT DAY!

I know it's very un me like and not detailed. ill edit it in tomorrow

Props:

Only completed games count...

Great day indeed Steve! For both of us. All the playtesting together really does help us.
Days like today prove this.

Anyways, I'm proud of you Steve. G/J!

Props to both of us for having the "STONES" to again play a deck we had Z-E-R-O actual
tournament testing with.

Ryan Vergal said earlier this week on the gym there was NO way a stall deck could excel in this
format and win a major event.

Hey Ryan, you were at least half right :) J/K my friend.

You ( and EVERYONE else) thought we were nuts to waste a regional by playing Dendro-stall.

Crazy like a fox .........

Big stones FTW!

I love this deck. Its my favorite. Just can't seem to make it work for me in the big games. Must be how I play it. Way to go for both of you and making the hard work behind the deck payoff. Enjoy Hawaii.

Bla bla bla, now get to Houston.

Great job. I was reading, you had me all excited for you, I was spilling my Apple Jacks all over the place because of the excitement of a Regionals win, then bam, the bad news at the bottom. Tears in my AJs. Wish you could've won. Father and son, 2nd and 3rd, what a great day.

Good luck next weekend.

Da Frog!!??!! Holy froglegs Batman....you played the Frog! (Bugs and frogs both taste like chicken  ) Great job you two! Wish it had been a 1st and a 3rd, but still quite a feat. So, in the semi's...did ya play out the mirror match, Dad give ya the pass or somewhere in the middle? GL next week and be safe.
