Anyone have any tips for how to find shiny pokemon and what a quick way is? I never really knew anything about Shiny Pokemon until about a year ago (After I had gotten rid of my Emerald/Leaf Green).

Trade for them ;/ 4 out of 6 of my shinied-out team were traded for. The only shinies ive found are Dialga (I lol'd so hard when he came out at the space pillar), Sneasel, and Ralts.

I have several Shinies too but I traded for all of them. I would like to know if there's an easier way to track them down other then trading for them. I have shiny Mew, Deoxys, Latias, and Driftblim. Anyone know any quick ways to get shinies?

1) Cheat

2) Run around in the wild grass a lot. A LOT. And then run around in the grass some more. Once you're done that, run around in the grass.

It's totally random. There isn't a fast way to catch them.

mass breed how many though?

i bred alakazam and meditite to get meditites, and after 29 eggs, i FINALLY got an adamant one. no shiny though.

I caught my first shining in DP yesterday. It was a shining Farfetch'd. After I got the national dex, I talked to Dawn's sister and she told me of a Farfetch'd swarm near a place. I went there and used the Poke-Radar and found a Farfetch'd, killed it, and then it went off again, and I really didn't notice the grass being rainbow or nothing (seemed yellow still) but it came up as a pink Farfetch'd, and I caught it.

I've heard some people say that if you can face a pokemon in the wild multiple times (upwards of 30-50) in a row, without facing something else, your chances of it being shiny are higher. I don't know how much that is true though.

Mass breed meaning breed thousands of them =P. I've probably bred over 700 eggs (not all of the same Poke) but didnt get one shiny. I've actually never gotten a shiny still from any of the games and they all have over 100 hours some 200-300 hours, except the red gyrados =/.

Since I dont know what shiny is I've probably ran into atleast one...

Trust me, you'd know if you had. It's colors are different, and when it enters battle, stars surround it.

Anyways, yeah. There are three ways of getting shinies:
1. Cheat
2. Trade for one
3. Run around in the grass like a chicken with its head cut off. Times a billion.

I heard that quite a few times too.

The chances of encountering a Shiny (either through hatching eggs or meeting them in the wild) are entirely dependant upon your Trainer ID.

Each Pokemon also has a hidden ID number, and if theirs matches yours, it will be a shiny. (Basically, it's as likely as winning the in-game lottery, although every encounter is a chance to win.)

I caught my first shiny in D/P yesterday; was trying to capture Azelf in a Great Ball, so I was having to start over again and again. About the 7th or 8th restart, he was shiny, and I just used my Master Ball to save me the trouble.

Shinies are incredibly hard to come across. Although the fastest way is to either save outside an encounter (like in front of a Legendary) and try and see one that way, or through hatching eggs (helps to have a Magmar on your team.)

In R/S when trying to hatch Swablus of the right personality I was lucky enough to hatch a shiny one. I've hatched MANY many eggs before and since then and haven't seen one, so it's really hit or miss.

Yes, when you least expect it, you will run into a shiny. Thats why I tell my friends to be prepared by at least having A LOT of pokeballs in their bag. That way they can't say they couldn't capture the shiny. I've also hatched a shiny in an egg (houndour) and I caught a shiny Palkia after resting for th right nature. And yes it took hours and a lot of mass breeding LOL. But they're not good enough to battle with competitivly :(

i had a shiny adamant natured metagross on emerald, then this fat kid at league restarted my game and saved it.

/wrists.

I got a modest shiny makuhita in emerald, and i've been through about 40 Gible eggs and no shiny. The only other time i've ever gotten a shiny was from a cleffa egg in Gold version.
