Yes, pay Mr. Visitor, the undisputed authority on all things involving Pokemon Video Games, no mind, in a discussion involving exactly that. Another classic Flaming_Spinich post; pointless like all the rest.

Honestly, trying to one-up me at my own game is as futile as, well, everything you've ever done toward me, ever, suprisingly enough. Keep your posts to yourself if you don't actually know what you're talking about.

Randomman:

Cloned pokemon ARE, in fact, cheated. By this I mean they are detectable by Nintendo at tournaments and will get you banned. Being as how i'm the authority on game boy tournaments (and soon to be DS tournaments), of course i'd know these things.

Now, considering Nintendo will ban you from a tournament just for having one in your game, how on earth could you consider handing them out to kids who don't know any better? I think it'd be a god awful shame to have a kid head off to a tournament, only to be kicked out for a hacked pokemon he didn't know he even had. It's a trojan horse. Wolf in sheep's clothing. You see where i'm going with this.

Hacked, Cheated, Cloned, whatever, passing them out to unknowing victims is absolute blasphemy.

Ripping kids off by trading them cloned shinies is a shameful act, looked down upon by all.

And finally, cloning ANYTHING rare ruins the economy of such a game. Imagine if each pack of cards you got at the DP pre-release had NOTHING but rare cards, holos, and Level X pokemon in them. You'd have armfulls of all these rare cards, but they'd be worth NOTHING because everyone else has them.

The entire trade economy of the Pokemon TCG would suddenly be torn apart. Same deal with the DS games. The more hacking, cloning, and cheating that goes on, the more the trading economy dies. My legit shiny pokemon won't be worth squat, because you'll have already cloned a million other shinies. And therefore, any effort I spend on getting rare pokemon for trade is pointless.

I'll have you know, i've been diligently breeding starters, rare pokemon, and other goodies for this upcoming diamond and pearl pre-release, to hand out FOR FREE. These things take time, and i've spent several weeeks now, hours at a time, breeding rare pokemon to GIVE AWAY FOR FREE. Granted, you could just spend a couple minutes cloning them, but then you're really just handing out garbage.

How do you think it makes people like me feel, when we put all this effort into acquiring piles of good trading material, when lazy people like you would rather just clone it? Or worse yet, the effort we put into these GBA and DS tournaments, the money we spend putting together good prizes for everyone, and have you come in and say our tournaments suck, and that we suck, and then try and set up your own tournament, only to try and give away FAKE pokemon?

We spend our time, money, and effort on these things, because we care and we want there to be something good and fun for everyone. You come in here and take a big dump all over it, and don't spend any money, time, or effort for your tournament that you're making SOLEY because you don't want to bother with the rules we've laid out, and because you're mad at SOMEONE else who ran a perfectly legit tournament under the circumstances he was given.

You can go ahead and ruin the trade economy if you want, I can't stop you from cloning, and I can't keep you from posting rude comments on here, but, if you think for one second you can run a tournament half as good as ours, you really are insane.

Real prizes, real competition, real fun. Only Team Rocket can bring you that.:thumb:

So it sound's like you've done those thing's if the were decteted beside's if you transfer unhacked/non-cloned pokemon to another game there is no way that nintendo can detect anything. Also who said that the pokemon I receaved weren't cloned as well?
(And do you realy care that mych about a false version of the pokemon world? In the real version not every thing comes from egg's)

As for the card's I would like it to get a better ratio of good card's because I never get lucky enough to get good card's.

Oh and one more thing you should spend time in on other fourms I do and most of those I trade with are fine with cloning because they are caught leagly.

You know, I'd love to participate in the GBA/DS tourneys again and prove there was a reason why I won N straight tourneys, but you all are driving me away. -_-

Stop being all That's SO Raven.

(Hypocrite FTW! ^^)

Also, DUNDUNDUN!!!!!!!!!!!

I HAVE SUNDAY OFF!!!

First off, who's gonna be in on this Taco Time frenzy?

(BTW, you pay for your own food. XP)

Tacos! sounds good. Where do we place our order? (will you be singing any Mexican songs as you deliver lunch?)

Isn't there a song parady called "Taco Shop?" Maybe Phazon will sing that as he delivers.

You may have caught them "legally" but cloning them is still cheating. Don't push [R]visitor and I to the point where we have to ban you from any electronic gaming tourneys we run.

Bold number one: Exactly how are you going to prove this to anyone? I'm the one whose seen people kicked out of tournaments for this stuff. You know your game keeps a record of every single thing you do, so it's not at all hard to detect a clone. Trust me, I know more about this than you do, it's cheating, it's illegal, it's stupid, so don't do it.

Bold number two: You must have missed everything I said about the trade economy, go back and read it until you understand.

Like I told Mr. Flaming_Spinich, don't come around here talking about stuff you don't know anything about. I'm the authority on these things, and when i'm not the authority, people like kayhon are, and since he's sitting back agreeing with me, there's a good chance we know what we're talking about.

OK, here's the deal - I like the fact that Northwest Players are some of the most active members of the Tournament forums here on Pokegym, BUT we have rules on the PokeGym about "making it personal". You guys are stepping over the line with all the name calling and accusations. I don't care if you want to complain about Oregon tournaments or lobby for rule changes in Gameboy events, but you need to stop short of personal attacks on other members of the PokeGym. Failure to do so will result in actions up to and including a ban. This topic is to discuss the tournament and generate excitement so we have the biggest crowd in the US. If you want to argue, take it somewhere else.

Thanks,

BDS

What ever I don’t care since I've apparently been blacklisted since regionals when no one cared that I wasn't there for the game boy then and when I thought it was okay to sine up late I find my name crossed off the list and no one cared. So if you don't care why should I?

The Gameboy tournament at NW Regionals was run by a totally different crew than the people who run them in Oregon. I don't think anyone has black listed you.

Well, what I'm prolly gonna do is, after round one, collect money from everyone who wants food from taco time. Then, I'll quit game 2 early and drive over to the place and order X foodstuffs.

Okies, a few prices....

Regular tacos run $1.45, but they're good! <3
We'll have our Casita Burrito on sale for $2.99 on Sunday. It's basically a burrito SMOTHERED with enchilada sauce and cheese, with sour cream on top, and a nice little salad on the side.
Our MASSIVE soft taco will be on sale for only $1.99, as well (seriously, I can barely finish two of those).
The local favorite seems to be the Chicken Ranchero burrito. It's ultra good, but it's ONLY $5.29!!! (stop laughing, dang it).
We also have Japanese food. Don't ask why. Just eat. Sadly, the cheapest meal-size item is our regular Chicken Teriyaki bowl for a mere $4.99 (it's filling, though). We also have yakisoba bowls for 6.79 or so. <3
We also have a smoothie bar, but unless you wanna come up there with me to get a smoothie, I'd recommend not getting one, as it won't be all too good if it stays in the car for a 20 minute drive in the hot sun. Prolly get one for myself, though. XD

Send me a PM if ya want to order in advance or to inquire about other prices.

I feel like such a little pimp......lol

BTW, all. I'll prolly dress up in my work uniform, as I'm dumb like that. Also, if ye want to seek me out AT the tourney to order food or to make rude comments about my nonexistant good looks, please talk to this handsome gentleman right here.

You hadn't signed up for the card tourney yet (If I remember correctly), and I was being pressured to start the tourney by Terry. And handing out byes to those who are late isn't fair to those who signed up on time.

I (by myself) ran the tourney at NW Regionals!!!

But the people in it were the same.

So?

I'm really getting sick of this....

I, THE PUYALLUP PHANTOM, ran the Game Boy tournment at NW Regionals. I realize that people hated the fact that I ran the tournament during registration, BUT, THAT IS WHEN TERRY WANTED ME TO DO THE TOURNAMENT. I try to be fair, and push back the start time as far as possible, but there comes a time when I do need to start the tournament. I was also under orders from Terry, to tell people that they need to register for the Card tourney, before the GBA tourney, so they wouldn't end up with a first round loss.

The reason people may not have been allowed in is because they hadn't registered for the card tourney, and I finally had to say, "No, we can't wait for you, and I won't give out a bye." Giving a bye to someone showing up late is completely unfair to those who were on-time and went through all the proper steps to sign-up. I will be making some minor changes to the Washington DS Tourney Rules for States, and will give ALL PLAYERS WARNING OF WHAT THOSE RULES WILL BE. No one is or has been blacklisted in Washington, but almost all of the decisions are made by ME. I am not an "authority" on Pokemon, but do enough work around the game to know what it and isn't right. Additionally, in the future, I may seek the advice of those who run Oregon's tournaments to help make sure all Pokemon used by the top finishers are legit.

By the way, just because the same people are in a tournament, doesn't mean they are the ones running it.

I personally enjoy having these tourneys, but I have to set limits, so people will not attempt to take shortcuts and walk all over me. I hope to continue running the DS tourneys as long as the Washington PTOs will allow me.

And as the person running the Washington GBA, and in the future, the DS tourneys, I have tried to be fair to everyone, trying to give everyone the chance to participate, but if necessary, I CAN AND WILL BECOME VERY STRICT IN REGARDS TO FOLLOWING THE RULES AND START TIMES that are listed here in tournament threads.

Thank you all for your time,
Washington's GBA/DS Tournament Putter-Togetherer,
THE PUYALLUP PHANTOM

Allen, I think you did a great job.

This guy's complaints are all about things that you had no control over. The PTO's said to run the Gameboy during registration. The PTO's said you must register for the card game before registering in the GBA tournament. The PTO's were responsible for not clearly denoting when the tournament would be held. Now that you have vented, let it go.

PS. I need a Diamond/Pearl DS tourney at the Auburn Battle Road (5/27) are you game to try again?

Hey does anyone know who, at regionals, was selling the deckboxes, packs of cards, dice and all of that
cuz he still owes me a piplup, chimchar, and turtwig holos

he said he would send them to me

Gosh Phazon, I don't want you to drop out of the tournament to cater our lunch! I thought if you were working that Sunday that your boss would let you drive over and visit us at Borderlands if we players put in a large "to go" order.

Just don't want you to go to a lot of trouble.

Rules are already in the works for future Washington DS Tourneys, and I will post them hopefully by this weekend. :)
