Delores D who ever this person is, they are the most accomplished player in the WORLD. They earned a ELO score of 1331.38, barely edging Celeste by .24 of a point.


You don't get this score by going 0-2 and dropping. You don't get this by playing in one tournament and going winless, you get this ranking by playing it out, every time, and have FUN DOING IT. It takes a true love of the game to lose and keep coming back for more! :smile:

Yknow, if I was this Delores person, I would probably take offense to your post.
While your intentions may have been good, the post really sounds like an insult.
 
She plays in this area, actually very fun to play against and a great person. She plays because her kids do, which is probably true for most of the people at the bottom of the list.
 
Delores is a really great mom and a great personal in general. She is one of the few people I look forward to seeing when I go to tournaments.

Yeh, she is a great person, she doesnt care really about her rating. I think that sums it up.

I've read the post several times and I really don't see the insult that others suggest.

I'm not going to guess at the motivations but it wouldn't hurt us all to drop our gaze from the top of the ratings list every once in a while.
 
SLOW DECK isn't trying to insult anyone. I don't know her, but judging by what others have said, I imagine she would probably get a kick out of this. It takes someone very dedicated to achieve a rating like that. Nothing to be ashamed of at all.
 
There is absolutly no insults.

Notice that number #3 and #4 come from France :p
I know them, and they play because they like the game and the community, no matter if they win. They just have fun playing pokemon, and nothing else matters.
 
There was no insult folks, it was meant as a compliment. Thanks for other backing me on this.

It is just a statistical reconignition of folks who love to play, enjoy people, and have an attitude that obviously isn't effect by winning or losing. I did make an assumption that the above descriptions would match the attitude of the players that earned the lowest ranking. I guess it would be insulting if I missed the mark.

There are other people that get so upset when the lose or don't top cut in a tournament, that they are all mad and nasty, complain how they were robbed, and start talking about giving up the game. These whiners has something to learn from the folks that enjoy the game for the "OTHER REASONS"

She is a really nice person, and is a parent of 2 friends of mine, one of which got the invite to worlds in juniors. Highly respectful, not caring about ratings or Trips, at least some people play for fun...

This is for sure a compliment post. Do you know how much you have to love playing the game if you KEEP playing after that many losses? Props to her! If I ever hit 1400-, look for a blog on my mspace with a Simple Plan Song. I'm soooo sorry <3
