Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Luciano Pavarotti 1935 - 2007

I had heard he was on the down turn just in the past few days.

He was a great performer, and will be missed.

Well, his cancer made his life bad those years...Maybe he is feeling better now..

Rest In Peace.

He was one of the most important Italian in the world. We'll miss you

EDIT:I didn't know that you all know the word 'maestro' because of him

I really admired him. I am a tenor myself and really wanted to meet him but sadly that won't be now.

I will always remember his last performance - at the Winter Olympics a while back, singing "Nessun Dorma" which is one of my favourite operatic songs. Wonderful.

RIP.

Oh yeah I heard about that on the news.....I havn't heard of him but he sounds like he was really good.

This is a sad day for sure.

It may sound silly and I hope nobody gets offended by what I'll say in the next statement, if somebody does, it's not my intention to offend anyone.

I suggest naming the Kricketune deck Pavarotti in his honor.

Yeah, I heard about this my voice lesson this morning. Very sad news indeed. Until a few years ago, you could still catch opera greats on tour in big cities. Now, with Pavarotti gone, finding a solid opera concent is going to be much harder.

Rest in Peace, maestro...

I find nothing offensive about that. I actually think that is a really good idea. Young people who didn't know about him will be able to learn about him in something that they understand.

Puccini's La Boheme will never, ever sound the same without Luciano. Thank you for opening my eyes and ears to opera. Such a void.. but thank goodness we have recordings.

Luciano is a legend...it's such a shame the world has lost him :(.

RIP Luciano "Lucario" Pavarotti. Your voice will continue to influence all fans of classical works, well beyond your passing.

As a tribute they should make a Chatot evo called Parrotti, that works on so many levels.
That would be great, but given the Yuri Gellar (sp?) troubles I'd bet we've seen the last of the "play on name" Pokemon. I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised how many PokeGym members even know who Pavarotti was. And if you happen across this thread and aren't familiar with opera, please give it a shot sometime. You might just like what you hear!

Never got into Opera, but Pavarotti spanned the gap to world wide recognition. He will be missed. His health has been very poor for about a year or so....now he can RIP.
