This is a deck I worked on all last season, and did not miss a top cut when using it. So naturally, I decided against it when Nationals came. oops. Anyway, I think it can still be viable even after losing the holon engine, because Nidoqueen can provide you with the consistency you need by searching out pokemon. Here's the list:

POKEMON

4 Totodile d
3 Croconaw d
4 Feraligatr d

2 Nidoran (F) d
1 Nidorina d
2 Nidoqueen d

2 Exeggcute d
2 Exeggutor d

1 Shellder d
1 Cloyster d

4 Holon's Castform

TRAINERS

4 Holon Mentor
4 Holon Adventurer
4 Rare Candy
4 Windstorm
1 Professor Rowan

ENERGY

4 Scramble
4 Metal (special)
4 d Rainbow
2 DRE
2 Cyclone
1 Multi

The main strategy is obviously to swarm as many Gatr as possible to up the damage of your delta pokemon Castform is the ideal starter to start drawing lots of cards. Nidoqueen is great because it helps you setup your bench and get out your stage 2's much quicker, and can also search for energy in the form of Castform. I know the trainers are pretty bare-bone, but the reason for that is I am trying to rely on pokemon as much as possible with TGW around now. The energy setup is pretty good, but could use some tweaking I think. The cyclone's are there because they are nice to attach to the first Castform and potentially switch out their ideal starter, and the Multi because I needed at least 11 first turn attachable energy. I've found 4 Scramble 2 DRE is the way to go, because I don't do huge amounts of damage so the -10 really hurts, and this deck plays so well from behind in mid game. Anyway, let me know what you think! All comments and suggestions are definitely welcome.

-4 holon castform
-1 rowan
-1-1 cloyster
-2 mentor
-1 adv

+4-1 chimecho
+2 scott
+1 TGW
+2 night maintinence

h castform is a terrible starter now that the holon engine is gone IMO
not to mention you already have 17 energy without him
chimecho works better fot this kind of deck
without h castform, 4 mentor is overkill, so we can drop two
rowan i dont think is good without stevens, so we can drop him
4 adventurer is way too much, so we can drop one
cloyster doesnt do much, most decks that snipe would just drop a cessation crystal and ko the cloyster without a care
scott helps you get useful supporters to keep yourself setup
wager is hand control, and hand control is good
night maintenance can get back pokemon once they die, and queen can get em right back out

drop queen
go meg d
make it a 3-2-3 line
take out 1-1 egg line for that

hey justin had i been able to go to nats with you then i would have made sure you used this and simba would have used magamnium ex and then the both of you would have made the finals, but then you would have lost to simba.

and you deffenatly dont need 4 mentor.

-2 mentor
-1 windstorm
-1 adventure
-1 rowan
-4 metal
-4scram
-1 multi
-2 cyclone
+8 lighting
+3 castaway
+2 celios
+2 TGW
+1 copy cat
+ 3 strength sharm

you have no celios, how are you going to get Nidoqueen out?

and Multi Energy does nothing but provide a colorless energy since all your other energies are special energies...

what are u saying..?? cant understand a word ur saying...

i was telling my friend hurricanewarty (justin) that if i had gone to nationals with him and our friends i would have told him to play his gatrqueen deck and my other friend simba to play his meganium ex deck and they would have both made it to the finals, then my friend simba would have won.

it isnt that hard to understand...

and that he doesnt need 4 mentors.

Looks good.

I'd probably go Fearow over Queen. You won't be attacking with Queen at all much here and S1>S2 where possibly anyday. Big difference speed and space wise.

master of puppets
well i understood the 4 mentor part ....

and

is alot diffrent from

DOM
i disagree with dom...

queen = stage 2 (more hp) + more dmg + power can be stacked + basic form has 50 chance of avoiding the attk

fearow = stage 1 (less hp) + weak to lighting (so is gatr so u want to avoid that) + power CANT be stacked

its not different at all, its just in my second one i explained it a little more so that you could understand.
they both say that had i gone to nats (nationals) i would have made sure that he used his gatrqueen and simba (my other friend) would have used magainium ex and they would have both made finals and that simba would have ended up winning.
made plenty of sense to me bud...

but, alas, i do have to agree with you to keep queen in instead of fearow because he does use the queen to attack every so often and he can get his castforms with it.

Hey guys thanks for all the suggestions. I really believe I need 4 mentor in the deck, and for now any deck I play will probably start out w/4 mentor in it, since I need the consistency of getting one very early on. I like the idea of going with Meganium over Nidoqueen though, since it is still just as strong as an attacker. I dunno about Fearow though. Yeah it's power is great, but it's much more fragile and I end up using queen a ton to attack. The reason for the 1 Rowan as well is to refresh my deck. I find myself cutting it close (and losing a couple of times) because I draw through my deck way too fast. I also like the idea of going with the Chimecho over Castform, although it's nice to be able to bounce my scrambles back and forth as needed.

Fearow over queen. It sets up faster. And with all of the fast deck running around, you need to be able to set up as fast as them. Queen takes too long and requires too many resources.
