Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Pokémon-ex this season?

There are a handful of Pokemon-ex that will be used. Kingdra ex d, Flygon ex d and I'm sure there are more.

No, it's not worth to tech against. There will be played some though. (Kingdra ex, Delcatty ex, Altaria ex, Sally ex, Flygon ex, Swampert ex etc.)

Latilock (Latios Ex d +Latias HP) will still be played to get rid of annoying pokebodies (Bastiodon, Slacking, Blastoise d, etc.). Salamence Ex (DF + PK) could easily become a deck to worry about. Flygon Ex d is still rather dangerous. Ray Ex d is a solid sniper with no weakness. Dragonite Ex d is big again has no weakness, and has two pretty decent attacks that make it versatile as well. Absol Ex has an amazing pokepower that could see play as a tech. Kingdra Ex d swarm is a solid deck once it gets set up. Shiftry Ex (CG) is still the best anti-pokepower card in the game because it can't be Windstormed or Warp Pointed away.

Anti Ex tech will be entirely based on your metagame.

Delcatty ex and Flygon ex &948; are your primary worries. I wouldn't waste deck space to tech ex cards though, since they'll mainly be found only in rogues.

Kingdra is right now arguably the best deck in the format. And now that alot of the other exs are rotated we can focus on working with the ones we are left with. Swampert is one that keeps catching my eye as well.

What is so great about Swampert ex?! That thing is awful: It Power ends your turn. It's attack only does much if you discard stuff. It is Kricket Food and maxes out at 80 to the active. That is one of those cards that is almost playable, like Kingdra ex δ. :p

Flygon ex δ is the play

Kingdra ex almost playable? If I have at least two kingdras out at once Flygon can only hit me for 60 and cant damage any Kingdra on my bench. Swampert was horrible last season but this season he has improved with the rotation with all the set-up decks being popular mid-season he might have a chance and just because you play Swampert doesnt mean he is your main attacker. Kricket going to be a big threat, once everyone discovers how to play against it

I won a regional before I knew what an -ex was. I was like "wow that flashy card has so much HP".

I bought a few packs of EX: Ruby & Sapphire before I knew what an ex was... Then I found out when I got a Hitmonchan ex. I just bought the cards for the e-code :nonono: Boy, did I love my little e-Reader

---------------------------

I've been considering playing Mew ex in one of my decks. I really like its power; IT LETS YOU FOR-SEE ALL OF YOU OPPONENTS OPTIONs!! I really like that. It is by no means good for attacking, but it is great for peeking at your opponents hand. It helps determine when the time is appropriate to play TGW. Mentor can grab it. You can see Plus Powers, Windstorms, Cessation Crystals, Rare Candies, Special Energy Cards, and various techs. Plus the card has some of the best artwork EVER! :)

I think we shouldn't underestimate random stuff like Gardevoir Ex or Tyranitar Ex. Their power might come more to rights this format.

I built a very strong Gardevoir ex deck last year, and it won 6 at MD states Masters, 4th MidAtlantic Regionals Seinors, and started off 4-0 at nats, then my bro. made stupid mis plays, end of story. That deck was SCARRY, but part of what helped it was noone expected it of teched against it. It eaisly beat R-gon even though it had psysic weekness. My point? Don't under estamaite a card because of weekness or bad matchups.

I think that Salamence ex PK could be devastating this year. Now THAT is a card you should worry about.

It was nasty last year, when ex ruled, but no more does that hold true. I liked it last season because I could easily steal two prizes. Now at :colorless:colorless:fire::fire: or:water::water::colorless:colorless, is too much without the two prize gain. I also played it with Power Tree, which is a BIG loss.

It might be good in a sniping deck, people don't realize how beastly 30 to all of the opponents bench is. It must be used with an energy accelerator. That NRG accelerator must be Altaria ex.
