Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

IV Bragging/Inquiry Thread

<a href="http://pokegym.net/gallery/browseimages.p
Thought I'd open up a fun thread, where people can go to ask questions about their Pokemon's IVs (such as "should I keep a Pokemon with these IVs?"), as well as share fun stories about any spectacular Pokemon IVs from breeding or catching they've run into. I'll start it off with a few of my own:

There is one very memorable Lanturn that my friends know about. I was doing a Chinchou breeding experiement, one without checking the IVs of the parents involved, just seeing what would come out of it. Lo and behold, the IVs of my 5th Chincho were all the same... 0. Yes, I had managed to breed a 0/0/0/0/0/0 Male Naughty (+Atk, -SpD) Chinchou, which, no less, had Illuminate instead of Volt Absorb. Without hesitation, I began the teask of leaving it in the daycare, Rare Candying once to evolve, and letting it get all the way to level 100 with 0 EVs. Its name: SHINE GET!

On more positive notes, trying to get a better breeding Absol, I got a Serious (No +/-) Female who has a 30 or 31 in attack, and no stat lower than 23 (24-25/30-31/22-23/26-27/22-23/28-29), caught (not bred) a pretty good Slakoth (Adamant Female, 28-29/31/25-27/8-9/28-29/10-12), and bred a fun Flailing Piplup (Adamant Male, 21-27/29-31/21-27/25-31/8-14/31). There may be others I can't remember quite precisely, but there are some oddities, I will say that.

In terms of questions, which am I better off evolving Slakoth into, given its IVs: Vigoroth or Slaking?

So, what do you have to share, in terms of IV stories, fellow Pokegym members?

i don't stop iv breeding until i have at least 30 for all the important stats and at least 20 for the other stats.

My aerodactly:
HP: 31
Att: 30
Def: 25
SpA: w/e
Sp. Def: 24
Speed: 31

My Electivire:
HP:31
Att: 31
Def: 24
SpA: w/e
Sp.Def: 23
Speed: 31

I got very lucky with 2 Dittos that I have:
1) Nature: Bold (+Def, -att)
Highest IV: 30 Def

2) Nature: Adamant (+Att, -Sp. Att)
Highest IV: 31 Speed

Then I caught a Shiny Mewtwo with the nature that: +SP. Att, - Speed. Either Timid or Modest would have been better but I'll take the nature it has.

nice thread. Before I mention mine, why did you(Mega) want your HP on your Cyndaquil to be fire? Flamethrower is basically superior to a 70 HP fire.

EeveeLover and vaporeon this is about hardworking breeding, not blatant AR stuff.

Some of my stuff:

Shiny Tyranitar (PokeRadar)
Nothing past 10 other than Attack IV 30

Garchomp

HP X
Attack 31
Defense X
Sp. Attack 31
Sp. Defense X
Speed 31

Heracross

31 Attack + Speed 20's in every defense X Sp. attack

Weavile

31 HP
X Defense
31 Attack
X Sp. attack
x Sp. Defense
31 Speed

not sure on HP though.

Shiny Salamence (hatched for)

X HP
X Attack
20+ Defense
31 Sp. Attack
20+ Sp. Defense
31 Speed

Modest!

Sadly I now find breeding tedious since it takes me very little time to get the Pokemon I want really, so my next target, when I find the time, is to chain up to 40 of pokeys I want, and get as many shinys as I possibly can before breaking the chain, by having 999 of every Repel. This way and using Synchro I could probably fetch some very good IV'd Pokemon.

My first target for this is a shiny Jolly Starly with 31 Attack IV and 31 Speed Iv or at least 25+ in both. We'll see how it goes.

Other targets include:

Magby
Male Ralts

And that's what I got so far. I will post findings when I get some shiny's in.

I didn't want it to be Fire, in fact, I was hoping for Grass, but for what I use the Typhlosion for, it doesn't need Hidden Power. :thumb:

I don't really know. Do you plan on it to explode? If so, it might work. What is its Nature? And lastly, lower HP and high Def/SpD are good for Pain Splitters, in my opinion, so the question comes down to if you want to risk survival a bit more in order to steal a bit more HP with Pain Split. I didn't for my Spiritomb.

Aye.

What I found tedious is filling up my Pokedex... Still at only 464ish seen, and 393ish had. 'Tis boring...

You wouldn't happen to have a Black Flute for when all those run out, would you? Then again, aside from its description, I could never mathematically/statistically figure out how well it works.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Why isn't it ever the Pokemon I want to have good IVs come to me quickly, yet the Pokemon I check on random whims seem to be good-ish?

Today's Check (from XD): Shuckle (Adamant Male, Sturdy): 27-29/9/21-24/28-29/31/25-28

I remember hearing that you got that Salamence pablo, nj.

Mega-Its a relaxed Koffing that I was assigned to do for a breeding job.It isn't supposed to explode.I'm really hoping its good enough ha.

I think you could probably breed a better Koffing, more Atk and HP would be nice.

An Onix I hatched, Adamant with EQ/Stone Edge/Explosion/Double-Edge

28, 30, 28, 21, 28, 8, only checked at LVL30 so some might be higher or lower.

Nice Shiny Bagon Pablo, how lucky to have a Shiny that can actually be used in competitive play.

I won't bother with the ones I've traded for, but here's some of the ones I've bred (note most of them are avaliable for trade as well):

Ninjask, Jolly, IVs: HP = 28, Atk = 30, Def = 31, SpA = 18, SpD = 29, Spd = 31

Ralts, Adamant, IVs: HP = 14, Atk = 30, Def = 15, SpA = 31, SpD = 31, Spd = 31

Duskull, Adamant, IVs: HP = 29, Atk = 30, Def = 30, SpA = 31, SpD = 24, Spd = 17

Beldum, Adamant, IVs: HP = 29, Atk = 31, Def = 22, SpA = 24, SpD = 26, Spd = 31

Riolu, Modest, IVs: HP = 27, Atk = 31, Def = 17, SpA = 31, SpD = 22, Spd = 31

Yeah, I decided to go ahead and re-breed for a better Koffing. How are these parents?

Koffing,Male,Pain Split

Before my DS was stolen, the game in it had my following prized Pokemon:

Sybil (Garchomp) w/ 31-31-31-31-20-20

Alex (Electivire) w/ 28-31-31-9-24-31

Bono (Swampert) w/ 31-31-21-?-31-?

Absol w/ 24-31-20-29-19-31

I was very proud. Now I have to start all over again, but, well, it'll be fun I guess. (Luckily, these are all on PBR, so...)

When I got the Toys'r'us Manaphy, I heard that natures and IVs were preset, so I got a random Manaphy, and if anyone can help, I want to know if this Manaphy is any good.

Relaxed

HP 18-19
Atk 16-17
Def 26-27
Sp.Atk 22-23
Sp.Def 20-21
Spd 14-15

Weird, I heard the Nature and IVs were random...anyways, that's an ok Manaphy, but you can always do better.

Well, this is just a small update on my Shiny IV hunt, so far I'm on a 50 chain of Starly, having caught 10 shinies already, all with a Jolly Synchronize Kirlia infront of my party. I have 700+ Super Repels to go, I will update with stats when the chain ends. I wonder how many more I can catch.

That should go in the Best Method Ever! thread, not this one.

I got a Modest Manaphy with 27 SA IVs. I forget the other stats at the moment.

my new lotad, bold natured:
HP: 31
AT: 18-19
DEF: 31
SP. ATT: 26-27
SP. DEF: 31
SPEED: 26-26

I know all those are 31 cause I was iv breeding it from parents that had 31 and I check the ivs up to lvl 57 and that's what it gave me, i'll probably check it via wifi at lvl 100 just to get the overall IVs.

I love Ludicolo, one of my favorite pokemon and so underated IMO.

Now I'm wordering if it's worth to keep going and breed for another similar one cause I wanted to breed Synthesis on to it. The parents have IVs of:
Male:
HP: 31
DEF: 31

Female:
DEF: 31
SP. DEF: 31

and those are the stats I care about the most. But I would have to breed synthesis, giga drain and leech seed from either torterra or a few others that naturally learn these moves which I wouldn't mind doing but I just don't think i'm going to get another lotad as good as this one, but synthesis is a huge part of the recovery move pool (*this one even has Rain Dish in case I would want to put it in a rain dance team):
Synthesis
Leech Seed
Giga Drain
Extra Move

What do you guys think?

Ninjask - (Hasty)
HP: 28
Att: 5
Def: 25
SpA: 9
SpD: 1
Speed: 31
I realize the attack and special d are absolute crap, but 31 speed! and the HP isn't too shabby. Should I train this one or breed a better one? (P.S, I don't really care about either defense b/c it's moveset will be Swords dance, Baton pass, Substitute and Protect w/ leftovers.)
