After losing 0-5 in battle roads last week I-re modified my deck and now have a decent strategy behind it.(I think)
26 Pokemon
3 Meganium (Delta)
3 Bayleef (MT)
4 Chikorita (MT)
2 Ampharos (Delta)
3 Flaffy (delta)
4 Mareep (delta)
3 Gyardos
3 Magikarp
1 Mawile (cg)

15 Trainers
1 copy cat
1 speed stadium
1 halon mentor
2 Scott
3 rare candy
1 drake stadum
1 celio's Network
1 Island hermit
2 Babe's Search
2 Mr Stones Project

19 Energy
4 Cyclone Energy
2 Multi Energy
5 Water
8 Fighting

Strategy:
Gyrados is a great barrier. I found people are afraid to attack him because of his Dragon DNA
In the mean time I build up Meganium's for his evolutionary call to get my delta Ampheros which has his
Halon Veil and Delta Circle. If for some reason I get chikorita only on first draw, I don't need energy to use his Sleep Scent. Bayleef only needs one colorless to use Evolution impulse so I can get Meganium up on next turn.
I like Cyclone a lot because it's an energy with the benefits of a trainer.
So far when I played this deck I found the draw power good and evolution is pretty fast.
I'm thinking of getting rid of Mawile and Celio's and putting another Magikarp and Gyados in the deck.
Tell me what you think. Any suggestions really would be greatly appreciated.

What exactly is the point of ampharos? It does 80 damage for 3 energy, and you don't really take advantage of his body. You could just as well use some other attacker paired with gyarados and meganium, if that's the way you wanted to go.

Do not drop the Celios Network..if anything put more in.

1 mawhile is probably no help, but 2 or 3 could be useful as starters. The more basic pokies you have the smaller chance you will get the dreaded magicarp start

Unfortunately I only have 1 mawile. I like his mining though. A lot of people seem to like to play him so I thought I'd try to jump on the bandwagon.
So far I've been lucky and not drawn only magikarps. I know once I play in a tournament my luck will change.
I'll put more in celio's in.

I like his 80 damage(if bench is full) attack. Even if it is for 3 energies. It's almost the same strategy as the Kricetune build up.

What's your main attacker? If it's Amphy, take out the Meg.line and put in Fearow. It's better, because you don't have to wait for the evolution to do anything about it. The Gyarados is nice, because it can do 30 for 1 energy and no damage on it. For your starter, go with Chingling/Chimecho. It's sickening to be able to draw three cards on turn one. It's hella-quick setup. Try it out.

hmm... this is awesome. I know I have 4 fearows too. It sure beats waiting an extra turn for meganium, but I like meganium's attacks to fall back on if needed. Fearow looks like it has a whimpy attack of 30 and 60 HP. Id be afraid of getting knocked too fast. I'll try it though...
I started as the gyrados as a main attacker and I really like him because of the dragon dna thing but I found out he is also a good barrier. I was playing him with Delcatty and Amphy, but had trouble with that deck last week. I found if I got Amphy out faster, I could have won a few games last week, because time was called in 3 of the games I played and had 1 less prize card than the other player.

Oh... I also got a Girafarig today in a MT. It's:colorless and has the same attack as the mawile. with 70 HP!!! So I'm putting 2 of him in my deck.

you probably could run a 2-2-2 ampharos line having a 4-3-2 is kind of a waste of 3 pokemon. you would only need 2 candy's if you put in the fearow, which is definatly better than meganium. I'd also throw in a couple boosts incase one of ur gyarados is knocked out and you need to do a quick 70 or 80 with ampharos

Actually, Gyarados dont do damage using 'Karps Flail without damage counters on it.

Actually, since Gyarados' Body reads, If Gyarados uses an attack from it's basic pokemon, that attack does 30 more damage to the Defending Pokemon.

So, if I can read, that would mean if Gyarados had no damage counters on it, Flail would 0 + 30 due to Dragon DNA.

I don't believe that is correct..for an attack to add extra damage, it must 1st do a minimum of 10 for its attack. This is why plus power and strength charm cause no damage without damage 1st being done

Alright, I definitely need to do the 2-2-2 ampharos line. I can beat my daughters water deck with no problem, but my son has a Torterra-Butteryfree deck that I can't seem to get my pokemon up fast enough for. I only found 1 of my fearows so I'll just replace 2 spearows and the delta fearow.

Tomorrow is the tourney, and hopefully I won't do too bad. Thanks for the help!!!
Gyrados dragon dna's wording If gyrados uses an attack from it's basic pokemon, that attack does 30 more damage.

I was told that you need to do some damage before you can do more damage.

I'll let you know how I do!!

any deck that loses to a deck containing butterfree has a major problem. with that said, i think the root of the problem is the deck is trying to do too much. decks work best when they have a simple strategy with only a couple pokemon lines. u should also try for 8 draw cards and 4 celios networks.

i am not a fan of gyarados. by the time he can do decent damage he is half dead. perhaps you should add exeggcutor d instead

Sorry I meant Beatifly not Butterfree. I was able to beat his deck 2 times tonight because I drew Girafarig in the beginning and was able to get rare candy to evolve to Meganium on my second turn.
. I took 1 mareep 1 flaffy and 1 Chikorita out and put 2 chingling and a plus power.
I think my deck is good to go. I am not looking to win the tournament, I'm just going to have fun. If I win any games, it will be a big plus.
