Cessation or ER2?

Now that a lot of blissey variants are running WPs and FFs, is it necessary for decks like mario to play ER2? Not only will it help against blissey, it will help against empoleon's scrambles/DREs, and a lot of other stuff. Without FF, blissey will lose to mario, especially if the mario runs 1-2 lake barrier. It seems like cessation doesn't help in many matchups, so I think ER2 would be a better alternative.

Thoughts?

cess. c all the way, ER2 is a coin flip so it could be a dead card in your deck and force your opponent to play windstorm. Plus it just doesn't help against Blissey as far as lucario goes but it also helps in inferncatty and that's a hard matchup for lucario as well.

You always would play Cessation Crystal first because it can slow down a variety of decks. If you have a deck that you feel the matchups are pretty much in your favor other than Blissey, why not try 2-3 ER2 and see if it helps at all.

The thing about the 50/50 dead card thing is that cessation is a dead card vs. a lot of the format right now because a lot of decks don't use powers or bodies.

And mario would kill blissey every time without blissey's FFs, and ER2 can get rid of that problem.

you make a very valid point, but cess. crystal is searchable by castaway. Against matchups where you don't need it you can just discard it off Tv Reporter or simply attach to your active that you now is going to get KOed, and 90% using DRE/Scramble it's easier to recover from those NRG loses.

In my lucario variant I don't play all 4 Cess. Crystal nor should I cause of the Lv x and deck space. So it would be hard to fit 4 ER2s, even though I don't like flip cards it would make the Blissey matchup a whole lot easier, if I hit 50% of the ER2s. But against a Blisscatty build the Cess. Crystal could be just as helpful and more reliable.
