Secret Figure Packs

Ok, I know that Liesik and Jimmer have posted in this forum, and I get the impression that they have at least some influence in matters regarding the TFG.

I think I speak for all of us when I say that there should be packs that only contain secret figures. Maybe single secret figure packs, maybe double secret figure packs (like the European packs). But with the current pack system being used for Next Quest, players that are looking to complete their collection or find certain figures are going to wind up with a lot of Ho-oh, Lugia, Salamence, Eevee, and Zangoose.

Another possible solution is to make it so there is more variety to the visible figures, instead of just having 6 different figures available in the single-packs and 5 or 6 (I've only seen 5 but I've heard there are 6) available in the double and triple packs.

Regardless of how it is accomplished, there should be some pack available that does not contain one of a predetermined, very small pool of figures.

Thanks for reading.

Out of the few times this actually occurs, I actually agree with you BT.

We had this discussion before, but it's nice to bring it up again.

I'm a collector, and as such, I want to own a set of Next Quest eventually. Given the pool there is now, the only way to do this is eBay, and buying a crapload of Double Packs, in hopes I don't get another Torchic or Eevee.

Having a Single or Double "Mystery" pack for sale would be he most beneficial.

I LOVE the idea they have going. You're able to get some nice figures, and KNOW you have them. However, having to KNOW you're buying a double for the element of surprise is rather wasteful. At least if an entire pack was mystery, I would walk away knowing I had the CHANCE to get no doubles.

Just my $0.02 on the matter. =p

Somebody keeps riping them open a little to pick inside and walmart keeps taping them shut. Anyone else notice this. and no its not me. The packs I bought were taped up. And I did not know at first that the starter packs had a game mat in them. That was missing but I have on now.

That'd be someone at your individual Walmart doing that, not a problem with all the figures in the US...

I also do think this is a big problem for people wanting to complete their collections, no one is going to want to trade for ho-oh since everyone is going to have five of them....has anyone gotten visible figures as their "mystery" figure? that would only make things worse.

I do think we need visible figures since that is one of the main selling points and the boosters seem like a huge improvement over the EU/AU run. but yeah an alternative would be good.

I wonder if mystery figures are designated by their boosters, maybe there should be a topic on what figures you've gotten as a mystery/from what kind of booster.

In a 2-Pack, I got Eevee as a mystery figure. And my friend has gotten Torchics as a mystery figure. I believe BT has gotten visible figures in mystery spots too.

This is how things should be done, IMO.
Visible Figure Single Packs, feature highlighted figures from the set, they would not be available in the Mystery Boosters.
Mystery Double Packs - 2 figures in a pack, both mystery.

Possibly continue with the Promo - Visible - Mystery 3 packs. Again, just make sure the Visibles are seperate from the Single Packs, and aren't in the Mystery roster.

Complicated, yes, but I think a format like that benefits children, who only want to see what they buy and get certain ones, and collectors, who NEED a source of randomity in order to have trading, and complete a set.

Sounds like a cool idea. However it won't ever happen. Reason, cause they want your $.

If you ever played the other TFGs (Heroclix, etc) you know that people buy whole CASES just to get 1 figure. Then they have messes of random "Thug" characters.

I finally saw some of the 2 packs at a local Target today, was really tempted to buy the Salamance one (Why not Tyrantir?).

They also had some new Pokemon TCG packs. With 4 packs (Crystal, Power Keepers, Dragon Frontiers) 2 Promos (Ho-Oh & Lugia) and a Power Keepers starter for $9.99!

Also had just the 4 packs in a blister (not sure how much),

How ironic. The reason you got different packaging, was because we in Australia (and Europe too, I believe) complained about the totally random blisters we got. Of course, the issue there was compounded by poor distribution of figures within each case. At least you don't have the problem where you buy 8 2 figure boosters, and get 3 each of 4 different figures, with 8+ of the figures being ones found in starters. (I wish I wasn't being serious there).

1 figure mystery blister packs, as well as maybe 2 figure ones (Depends if the packaging is easier to open. The ones here were a nightmare without scissors.), would work, but you'd need to keep your existing ones for the new players too.

Agreed,,,these boosters here in AU was a total nightmare... i nearly lost my tooth and sliced my face when wrestling these 2 packs on way to league last year...

Oh yes, I know there were issues with the European/AU boosters. The issue was that they weren't exactly "random" - I bought six packs and got FOUR sets of duplicates (Brock, Weedle, Zangoose, and Tauros).

I got a Charizard in Secret Pack. So they do overlap.

I think we do need double secrets, because with 42 figures, you can get 19 for sure (4 in each starter, 6 single, 5 shown in the double), so you have to get at least 23 of the secret figures. This translates into over 4 of each of the shown figures, which is way overkill, IMO
