Could we please have only one City Championship folder per state not one per city

One folder per city is spamming the thread, if everyone did it we would have well over 200 folders and no one would ever be able to find what they are looking for. Thanks

IMHO a topic (...this is what you meant by 'folder'?) per state would be even MORE confusing. how is one to know just which tournament is being referenced in a reply, without resorting to quoting the entire post one is replying to?

the only way this could possibly work would be to make a seperate subform for each state. i don't think this would be workable myself, and have no idea if it would be even possible given the time available to the board admins (since most of them are PTOs themselves) and the limitations of the board software.

jmho.

I think each PTO should have one topic listing all the events that that PTO is hosting.

People usually don't have a difficult time communicating about a specific city either, they just say, "I will be at #1,2 and 3, but I will miss #4."

and what if one is new to the tournament scene and has no idea what a PTO is, much less who the PTO is for their area? how do they find their event with topics titled "PTO XXXXX's city championships"?

I been posting all of my events under one post for awhile now. I see nothing wrong with doing it that way. It's been working for me. But what works for one PTO doesn't mean it will work for another. So I have no problem with us making 1 post per event, or 1 post for all events.

I think they mean, like, "[State] City Championships". Personally, I think it works better, 'cause it is really hard to find the state you're looking for. Plus, in my opinion, it's like flooding the forum.

Most of those 'single-city' topics only get one or two responses anyway, so I don't see what the big problem is. In a day they'll be off the front page.

One thread is the way I've always done it, but I can see why States that have multiple CCs run by several different TOs would perhaps want multiple threads. I'm not sure we'll change the rules or make a bunch more sub-forums to solve this, because there does not seem to be a real preference or agreement on how to solve the problem (or even agreement that it is a problem for that matter).
