why are all of them clumped together in the first few weeks of cities, and then there's like a whole period from Dec 9 to Jan 5 (when I'm off school) where theres a grand total of.. 0 cities.

This is such bad scheduling =/

Hmmm, when it comes down to this time of year, scheduling is not the only problem. You will find it hard to get permission during the month of December to have events at venues due to people wanting them for end of the year parties. League stores tend to get less people frequenting them during the Christmas period, so many T.O.'s don't want to schedule them when people are away. If you can guarantee that everyone is coming up to Barrie late December, I'll move mine. Do you know 40+ people that you can count on to come up on the 22nd when Christmas is only 3 days away?

It's not to say that your suggestion is not possible, especially since there may be more events available. However it may not be practical.

Well, I guess if I am reading Kant's mind correctly, he would at least want the Barrie and Angus Cities to move one week later than the original date (to the Dec 1st and Dec 15th) so he can play in as many Cities as possible =/

As a poke parent I kind of like the idea of having the cities done before mid December. After the 15th I have 5 corporate functions that I need to attend, With shopping and all the other fun stuff it would make it difficult or impossible to attend more than the early sessions.

i dont care about attending as much as possible, i just want more cities in the off period than during school, but from what P_A says, it seems liket heres a problem with that =/

Unfortunately, if I had been able to move any, it would only have been the one in Barrie. Angus is that day or not at all. I don't have a problem with moving the Barrie date. However, I don't see the point if all the signs point to it being an even worse gamble than the day I've already booked. Sorry guys. If you can propose a better solution, I'm all for listening to you. Perhaps if you get in touch with Marvin he might be able to change a date, but from what I've heard from him, it would be unlikely.

See what you can do regarding the Barrie Cities, and I will also see IFF I can somehow convince Peter to squeeze in a Cities in Dolly's as well.

There's no point. Unless you know of a rather large number of people who would be interested in coming up here, 3 days before Christmas .... No, there's no chance that'll happen, so there's no chance I'll change that date now since it's just over a week away. It's not a matter of just changing a date, or just scheduling another either. POP has given the TO's the chance to get only a specified number of dates. What you get is what you get. Kevin, if Peter doesn't have one already, chances are he may not be able to run one. Nice idea, but none of this is very practical - especially being this close to the events' date.

Ok, just letting people know I will be adding to the pot for both of my CC's. Remember Barrie CC is this weekend, and Angus is scheduled for December 8th. I have extra boosters to be given out. Here's your chance to grab some, even if you get 6th place!

There is also a CC in Hamilton this weekend too on Saturday
Comic Connection
895 King Street West
Hamilton, Ontario
Registration Time: 2:00 PM
Start Time: 3:00 PM

That's a bit odd. Hamilton's City championship seems to be off the tournament locator. I was thinking maybe I might try to look up the attendance figures, but I couldn't find anything - not even Marvin's events! I know Marvin had his in Oshawa, and I heard Hamilton had their's on Saturday as well. Barrie's event had 35 people (oops, I forgot that one dropped, so we had 36) at it, and I was wondering how the attendance was at other events. Anyone have any info on that?

HAMILTON'S CITY CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR DECEMBER 9TH HAS BEEN CANCELED!!

This has happened because there were two CC's scheduled for the same city. Unfortunatly for everyone in Ontario they canceled the wrong one.

They are still hosting a $5 fun modfied tournament that day for all who are interested

Good God, this has to be one of the worst things yet to happen ... we seriously need some sort of substitute for the cancelled event elsewhere.

EDIT: Found it for my reaction

It's just terrible that there are 7 CC's in the GTA, but none of us can go to more than 4 (unless someone has ability to manipulate the space-time continuum). I really hope the the PTO's can work this out so it doesn't happen again

Well, hey, everyone's schedule is different. Marvin's schedule was too similar to mine. That made it extremely hard to schedule things any different than they already were. I have no idea why Rick scheduled things as they were, but it may have been the same case. Christmas got in the middle of things too. It's pretty tough. If Marvin had control over all of the events perhaps it would have been different, but he's the only PTO here. The other 2 of us are just TO's. I won't go into the in's and out's of the situation, but I'm pretty sure spring Battle Roads will be different. In any case, even with the 3 CC's on the same day, we had a combined attendance of 86 people. That's nothing to sneeze at. Hamilton had 24, Oshawa had 26, and Barrie had 36. I won't complain. Sure, it would have been nice if the other guys didn't schedule theirs on the days I booked, but we still had a decent attendance. Plus I gave away more product to hopefully encourage more people to remember my events. Maybe that made a difference, maybe not, but I still enjoy running the events.

By far the most ridicoulous thing I have seen in my life
3 CC in one day, hmmmm that doesnt seem suspisious at all
maybe ya'll need to co-ordinate or something.
I mean all this is giving is less rating invites to, well, everyone
Ill see ya'll at the 2 CC day of Dec.8th

Sorry Seb, but to tell you the truth, your ratings points (though important) don't mean much compared to my schedule. If I can't do it, I just can't do it can I? I try to cater to the players as much as I possibly can. Why don't you ask Rick why it was so important to have one on the 24th? I already know why Marvin scheduled his then, since it was one of the few days he had available. I got in touch with Marvin before I scheduled mine, and tried to see if we could make it work for you, but his schedule and mine conflicted. That's the way life is sometimes. But I wonder if Rick even tried to see what everyone else was doing. I know he didn't get in touch with me, that's for sure. In any case, I hope there's another big turnout for both events on Dec 8th. I agree it's a shame that there isn't more at different times, but I won't feel bad if the other event gets more people than the Angus one. I realize it's out in the boonies, but there's a new store opening up a league in that town, so it's good for publicity. If you, or anyone else is interested in coming up to it, then that's great. You're welcome at any time. I'm sure we'll all have a great time, regardless of how many show up. I've asked to be able to get another event, but apparently I'm on a list. We'll all have to wait and see.
