I can't take it cause I'm not 18 yet, but if I create a new POP account that says I'm 18 and pass the test, can I get the Prof. logo in my gym avatar?

not 'most likely', but _would_ get banned from POP. after all, one must post both their 'gym screenname AND their real name to get the logo added to their account here, as GLBlaine must check names against the list of professors supplied by POP.

and are we forgetting that people from POP...INCLUDING the head of the professor program...read the board here?

a graphic under your name on the 'gym is that important to you? nevermind spirit of the game, but what about the professor core values one is supposed to follow, being in a position of leadership?
The Professor Core Values are:
Integrity
A Professor must act with integrity at all times. A Professor should be fair and unbiased, whether judging a tournament or resolving a dispute. Personal feelings about another player can often cloud a judgment call. A Professor must not take these feelings into consideration when resolving an issue between players, parents, venue staff, or spectators.

Honesty
A Professor must be an honest individual. It is critical to the integrity of the Professor Program that its members have a reputation as trustworthy and honest. If players cannot trust a Professor to be honest, they cannot trust that his or her rulings are accurate or events fair. In addition, Pokémon USA may occasionally contact Professors to assist in player or venue investigations. If a Professor has been known to be dishonest, the integrity of the investigation may be jeopardized.

Responsibility
Professors are trusted with a great deal of responsibility. If a Professor is a Tournament Organizer or League Leader, it is critical that all event reporting is done in a timely manner. In addition, a Professor working at an event is responsible for ensuring that all event prizes and participation rewards are handed out according to the event guidelines.

Professionalism
To maintain a higher degree of respect, Professors should act professionally when acting in an official capacity. Foul language, horseplay, smoking, drinking alcohol, and similar activities are unacceptable while actively representing Pokémon. Players, parents, spectators, and venue staff should be addressed courteously, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or physical or mental capacity. In addition, it is unprofessional to publicly make negative comments about Pokémon, the Pokémon TCG, or Pokémon USA without first trying to resolve these issues with Pokémon USA via private communication. Negative comments made publicly only hurt the brand, the game, the company, and the organized play program.

The relationship between Pokémon USA and a Pokémon Professor is an "at-will" relationship. This means that either party, at any time, for any reason, is free to sever the relationship. If Pokémon USA or the member severs the relationship, the member will no longer be considered a member of the Professor Program and will not be eligible to receive any of the benefits associated with the Professor Program.

You're willing to lie and cheat, all for a cool Logo?
Whenever you see that logo, you would think about how you lied and cheated.

Wait until you're 18.

You should probably think about what you say before you post it. This won't look very good when you actually try to become a professor if they keep records of these things....

I really should take the test again...I was a Professor what, 2 1/2 years ago when they implemented that age requirement and I got kicked out.

Jeeze guys, get off his (or her, lol) back. He obviously didn't realize it was that big of a deal, otherwise he wouldn't have even posted. To me it just looked like he wanted to be able to prove he was knowledgeable and asked if it was ok.

I dno why people are so quick to jump on each other here...

Wow proffs are suppose to follow those? Wow, I know a ton that don't. Do you want my list in alphabetic, or chronalogical order?

Everyone just lay off the guy. He was askin a question. The original post say NOTHING about wanted to have the powers of a prof. He just wants the logo.
Infact you should be giving him credit FOR ASKING THE POKEMON COMMUNITY if it is an ok thing to do. He didn't just do it (AFAWK). I give him credit for that.
Those core values are not often followed. The fact that any person over 18 can become a prof. can take the test. Mind you that 80% of the time their kids take it for them =/

I find it funny how the first few posters assume he is trying to cheat the system. What is really funny is how of ALL people a mod is one of the first to jump to conclusions.
"Innocent Before Proven Guilty" Ring a bell?

And yet you assume that 80% of the time kids take the test for the adults, which is another violation of the spirit in which the game is played and the core values.......

There are a whole lot of adults who take the test, pass the test, and give of their time, effort, and energy for the game, enabling OP to exist at all.

As far as the original issue- he does need to be warned. The last thing anyone wants is for someone to have to leave the game for a year because they didn't know creating a fake POP account would lead to that.

spartan-104...

I think that you're dead meat once a Moderator comes over here...

He's not, he had every right to say EVERY SINGLE WORD that he did say. Mom' jumped the gun and bashed the guy. If anything Mom' should get an infraction but, that will never happen. *waits to get his own infraction for speaking the truth*

He had the right to say what he said, but not how he said it.
That's what the infraction will be for.

2.5 more years until I can get my logo. I submitted a problem I had to the admins about how whenever I try to update my profile, it asks for the last date that I passed the exam. Grrr. I can't change my profile without the information that doesn't exist. =/

C'mon people, it was a seriously rediculous question. According to his profile, he is 17 years old. That's plenty old enough to be able to realize that announcing that you want to lie and cheat the system to get a cool logo might be a bad idea.

It's one thing to perhaps think that this plan would work, and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt in this area and believe he didn't realize that it wouldn't work. However, that doesn't make that potential action any less unethical. Additionally, he announced his dubious plot to the public. He's the stuff saturday morning villians are made of!
