Venusaur?

Could Venusaur have any potential? I noticed he could be very useful with that PokePower and Healing 4 each turn. I thought I could use Budew for quick trainers, Furret for getting cards, and Miltank to heal. Ideas?

Hm... Potential...?

It sounds like Torterra with a slightly better basic (gotta love the whole "Go to sleep! Rawr!" attack), slightly worse stage 1, and more bizarre attack (it heals self better, but it doesn't save your bench... What to do...). Oh, and the water resistance is gone AND you don't have a massive HP/Gust of Wind LV.X.

You want my opinion? Grass types'll have to be put on hold for next set. Sceptile makes life INFINATELY easier for this deck, even if you're setting up 2 stage 2 pokemon. Moving energies around, each one counting as 2 energy (meaning only 2 energy to attack with Venusaur/Torterra), and great healing (add in Sunflora) sounds not too bad.
Right now, it isn't ideal, because we have to wait for 4 energies (which is bad, even with Exeggutor 'cause you can't power the bench easilly), and cards such as Magmortar are starting to become popular (yes, it causes problems. One shots are BAD, not to mention the status effects could go away in a split second due to their own LV.X).
Maybe somewhere away from here it'll work. Heck, I don't see why not beyond those two problems already stated. The flippiness might be a third reason against Venusaur, but it shouldn't be too bad (unless you're me).

Sceptile GE will make Grass a quicker deck type,Well Roselia SW is GREAT one and its doing 30 auto so u should play it with that cause it actually works with Skarmory ex.

Roselia DP, not SW. SW Roselia does nothing except auto sleep OR 10 damage. Terrible basic (especially since you usually want to play it as a Stage 1 for Roseraid DP to be able to hit the bench)

About roselia... You still have energy being a pain in the rear. You're VERY vulnerable against Magmortar decks and the like, as they'll smash everything into oblivion. You're very weak against speed decks.
But you get a free amazing starter (well... Almost. It's about 10 HP too low to be borderline good, and 20 too low to be standard, unlike something such as Stantler), and you get an almost good stage 2 Roseraid (It would be great, assuming you can get energy onto it... Not sure HOW that'll happen, as you're using Budew's search ability and pulling all sorts of other crazy stunts. ALSO assuming the rather low 90 HP isn't donked by Bannette + Pluspower or anything like that...)

Venusaur right now the only good fit I see for it is CG Swalot. Its attack dose 50 for 3 + 20 for every special conditon that your opponents active is aflicted with. If you can get a bench of Venusaurs and get some head flips you can power up Swalots attack pretty quick.

I didnt mean Roselia I meant Roserade,my bad.

Roserade SW is so nice for one energy.

But getting a bench full of Venusaur is the hardest thing to do,you will get one most def.but two or more is a little hard even with the ball engine.

banettes aweful. its a worse version of kricketune. Venasaur Wormadam. Venasaur should NOT attack, first off the attack itself is aweful, 2nd he doesnt have the tank HP to even get use out of the effect. He's pure status. Run him with Wormadam and status them to death. Flip the heads and poison or burn them, then wormadam does the auto confuse. Beautiful. Maybe slip the other venasaur in their that does damage for the amount of grass in play.

Venusaur swarm is better than Venusaur + techs like Miltank and whatnot. Healing is nice but what really makes the deck good is the ability to inflict multiple conditions if you have more than one frog out. With good flips you can have your opponent alseep, poisoned, and burned ... and still heal your active.

The problem rising here: How does one swarm Venusaurs? Its not easy to get them fast enough.

So you're gonna set up a Stage 1 to set up Stage 2's while that Stage 1 needs to attack to get the cards? Yeah, good luck with swarming them fast enough.

Thank you, considering it has already taken second place at a cities down here in FL =P.

Mad Jungle Fever!!!

This card does have potential.. the 2 things ive seen it lose to are Gallade/Gardevoir and Magmortar stuff

i think that its just too flippy and slow for this format. i mean, with all the disruption and t2 decks around, this card doesnt have much of a chance

Try it before passing judgement. Both the power and attack are very good. In my testing the Frog seems to beat all sorts of stuff he shouldn't. Weakness is his biggest problem.

I haven't tried Furret yet, but it makes perfect sense as you can posion, burn, or sleep them from the bench while Furret does the setup work for you.

I know and aknowledge Venusaur's strengths. It's just that he's too slow to me. You also NEED 4 Windstorms to battle Cessation Crystals, Gardevoir can stop you from using powers as well and there's not much you can do about that, and due to that it doesn't seem like a winner to me anymore.

sparta is right,i took second place with it down here in florida.

TO SLOW!?

by t3 i at l;east had out 2 venusaurs EVERY GAME.
which is why furret is the play.
without furret..i can understand.
but with furret...the deck has major consistency.
i lost to magmortar because the lv.x is the biggest pain in the behind.i
i can garantee if he didnt get out a t3 magmortar lv. the game would have been alot more legitimate.
