This is just an idea i thought might work. If you can think of a better pokemon to use for ampharos after reading the stradegy tell me.

Pokemon 20

4 voltorb sw
4 electrode sw

3 mareep sw
2 flaffy sw
3 ampharos sw

Trainers 26

2x Quick Ball
4x Celio's Network
2x Night Maintenance
4x oaks visit
x2 mentor
x2 strength charm
4x rare candy
4x Plus Power
4x Roseanne's Research
2x Warp Point

Energy 14

3x DRE
3x Scramble
8x lightning
(Electrode can be used as an energy when kod)

Basic Stradegy:

Start with voltorb attach lighting unless you have DRE. Evolve into electrode. Attach DRE to do his attack for 100 damage and KO yourself. Electrode can be used can be attached to a pokemon for any type of energy.(pokepower)

Keep doing this until you have a Ampharos. Put him as your active and use scramble to do 70. If anyone can think of a better pokemon to use for this then Ampharos please tell me.

You have to run 4 Holon;s Castforms, think about it. You have an active Electode and set up wit two energy on it and a Voltorb on the bench. Your electode gets KO's so you attatch it to you benched Voltorb as an energy. You make the Voltorb with the electode atatched your new active pokemon. You turn your draw your card, Attatch Holon's Castform to Voltorb, Pick-up the electrode, Presto, you hav ean Electrode in you hand. Evolve Voltorb to Electode and Wham 100 if you need to. As long as you have Electodes on your Bench (Holon Mentor), and Castforms in your hand (Holon Mentor) you can continue this for a while. It could be a tough combo to deal with. Plus add lots of plus powers and strenght charms so that you dont always have to blow your self up to get a KO.

Do Plusle and Minun work when you kill your own pokemon? I thought they said "during your opponent's turn"

How bout diamond and pearl machamp lol.. just an idea.. listen to this. Electrode smacks for 90-100 (depending if u have DRE on it) knock it self out.. then bring out machamp and revenge for 70 1 energy....

(i may be thinking wrong.. revenge might say, if any pokemon got knocked out during your oppenents last turn.. if it wasnt it would be great!)

Nope, they need to be knocked out by damage from an opponent's attack for Machamp to work.

The Holon's Castform idea was actually sort of interesting... but I still can't think of any way to make 'Trode work to its full potential.

Look at set scans if you really want to figure out what works the best, look for stuff that benifits from getting knocked out.. maybe electivire... knock out electrode, then next turn attach a scramble and u already have electrode as an energy then attck with electivire for 120, powered up in one turn.

Tyranitar Comes to mind for this! Boom, allows the prize to be taken for later usage, then attach the Scramble to TTAr and smack them for 80 on next turn!

I've ben messing with Electrode a little bit, I'm having probelms with it. Instead of Ampharos (SW) I used Nidoqueen d (DF) and Latilock and Ray Ex d. Holon's Castform can be used with all the delta basics along with Voltorb as your starters. Here's the list I'm messing with:

4-3 Electrode (SW)
3-2-3 Nidoqueen d (DF)
1 Rayquazza Ex d (DF)
1 Latios EX d (DF)
1 Latias (HP)
4 Holon's Castform

3 Holon Mentor
4 Roseanne's Research
3 Rare Candy
3 Windstorm
4 Celio's Network
2 Night Maintenence
4 Plus Power

4 Metal (special)
7 Lightning
2 Scramble
2 DRE

The main problem I'm having is unless I overwhelm my opponent and run them out of pokemon, the deck looses steam very quickly. Not to mention, every time you blow an Electrode up you give up a prize as well. Another problem I've found is you need something to take hits after you blow up an Electrode as moving a 50 HP Voltorb into the active spot for their turn isn't a good idea. The good part about this setup is you can very quickly power up a Nidoqueen's attack up to 90, but the deck has to draw into a Scramble or DRE to be able to consistantly attack with Nidoqueen when you need to. I would love to fit something like a Flygon d(HP) to help with this, but I think that would really mess with consistancy.

Electrode should be the T2 theme with either DRE or NRG drops.a easy 100 and attach, wait til next set and it will be more useful.

Sorry Castform wont work, it return Basic energy to your hand only. Electrode counts as Special Energy.

I played the version I listed at league and made my opponent playing DWD.dec want to quit. He then switched to a Wormadam deck and I was able to quickly run him out of Pokemon. This was with only 2 Electrode in the deck as well. I've come to realize 4 DRE is definately the best play on energy. With Castform in the deck you can always switch DRE for a Castform to get the -10 damage effect removed, and being able to go boom for 90 as early as turn 2 (after a turn 1 castform KO, for example) makes this a very dangerous deck to deal with. The biggest problem is finding something that can easily retreat once you self destruct an Electrode, but the Latilock helps set this up (so much so I'm tempted to play a 2-2 Latilock to prevent prize concerns).

Note: Electrode has just been errata'd.
The Power now works during your opponent's turn as well.

I actually just got back into pokemon a few weeks ago and Electrode/Amphy was the first card combo that caught my eye. I've been running this version and so far I've won almost every battle. Like 9/10 at least...
here's the list:

Pokemon 19

4 Voltorb
4 Electrode
3 Mareep
2 Flaffy
3 Ampharos
1 Rayquaza d EX
2 Holon Castform (only 2 is necessary, otherwise your chances of getting a lone castform increase x_X)

Trainers 28

4 Rare Candy (T1 Electrode FTW if you go second, 4 is def the way to go)
4 Celio's
4 Roseanne's
3 Plus Power
3 Warp Points (Combo with Electrode's free retreat)
2 Windstorms
2 Team Galactic Mars
2 Steven's
2 Night Maintence
1 Copy Cat
1 Team Galactic Wager

Energy 13

9 Lightning
4 DRE

IMO I think this type of deck is one of the best in the format. It's way faster than pretty much anything. Even though they take a prize for electrode dying they still have to bounce back from their poke getting knocked out so suddenly. Plus since electrode turns into a energy you can just bring out another one and just kill everything. And if Amphy is on your bench it starts to bring your opponents Magmortar, Blissey, Gallade, Gardevoir and Other Menice's in range on OHKO from Ion Blast, Especially with 4 Plus Powers.
Anywho, hope this helps ^_^
