Special Energy Question

Hey everyone. My son and I have recently got involved with Pokemon and are having a great time. My question is are there any trainers or supporters that allow you to search for a Special Energy card in your deck? Also, are there any poke-powers that allow you to do the same thing? Thanks so much, in advance, for your help.

No, there aren't any out right now. You can use draw cards to try to draw into them, but there is no trainer out that will surefire get a special energy.

The only way to get them out of your deck is either to draw into them or use attacks to get them..

Examples:

Weavile (D/P) - Dark Plot
Furret (SW) - Keen Eye

im sure there are more im just listing the ones on the top of my head...

Pokenav gets any kind of energy, but can only search the top three cards of your deck. Pokedex handy gets any one card from the top two cards of your deck. I used both in my half-deck for the Professor Cup at nationals, to pull DREs and candies for T1 Apes.

Weavile SW can also take out Special Darkness Energy, but that is about it on Pokemon that can directly search for them in Modified.

Just don't use the Fire Red/Leaf Green Pidgey... that guy's no fun. :tongue:

Though it's a bit beside the point, there's an Unown S from the Secret Wonders set that is incredible in getting any energy card back from the discard pile. Infinite Boost Energy anyone?

To add to this, you would need Unown S, E and T on your bench (3 of 5 spaces avail. mind you) and then, once each turn, you can flip a coin, if heads get any energy back from discard. Not as easy to set up as simply having Unown S on the bench. It is also a power, meaning it can be shut down by cess crystal.
