So you think that they are going to now make every set different than the Japanese sets? That we will forever have different level X's in each set than the Japanese got in theirs?

That just strikes me as odd.

IMHO, there is less of a chance of a set with 6 lv.X than the next few sets being different. Even if they introduce leafeon/glaceon this set they don't have to print the lv.x in the set too (see electivire dp, honchkrow mt, palkia/dialga dp).

When ex's were first introduced (Ruby/Sapphire), there was 5-6 (or more maybe). That set the base that sets were going to have high numbers of exs in them. When Diamond/Pearl came out, we got 3 lv.X. So I'd expect anywhere from 2-4 lv.X in every set.

edit: Jason, do you have proof we will get DP5 in April? That's just 2 months after February when we get DP4. I'd say we will get DP5 in May and then get DP6 in August (not legal for worlds).

There weren't, I'm sure of that. And I really doubt they'd throw DP1 Dialga/Pallkia in here.

I have the Dialga Lv.X theme deck from Japan, and in it is an alt. art of DP1 Dialga, so MAYBE we'll get Dialga/Palkia that way in our DP4. Or POP 7 or 8.
I know some people wouldn't like it , but it is a possibility.

Ya know.... I'm getting real sick of not having my new Eevees. :/
If they aren't in this set, then I doubt I'll be buying hardly any of these packs. I was all set to buy a whole box, too. But, guess I'll have to wait till yet another release...

i dont know, because in the scans for both japanese DP3 and DP4 there wasnt any dialga or palkia other than the lv x's, but im not 100% sure about that.

IIRC, Japan got (Promo, I think) different cards for Palkia, Dialga, AND Darkrai. I'm fairly sure that Palkia and Dialga both have items (similar to berries) that increase their attack damage when the opponent's weak to them. I also recall them having attacks that need 2 energy minimum to attack, which meant they were fairly bad (worse then the DP1 version in any case, which aren't bad at all once we get the LV.X versions)

...Actually, I think it might have been just Palkia and Dialga, as I don't remember anything about a second Darkrai. :/

What I want to know about is what else will be in those starter decks... Obviously we'll have basic metal and basic dark in two of those starter decks (hurrah!), but will the legendary pokemon be given cool partners (ala Electivire theme deck given Ampharos)? Hm...

Japan has gotten a Darkrai from their DP3 (our DP4), a Player's Promo, and the Movie Promo (holding an Enigma Berry). As far as I'm know, Japan has...

- Original Palky and Dial DP
- Player's Promo Palky and Dial with Lustrous Orb and Adamant Orb, respectively
- Reprint of DP Palky and Dial (Theme Deck)

I'm sure there are more.

I don't know...I'm kind of glad that the Eevee's most likely won't be in this set. Why? Because, the next rotation will most likely be DP-on, rotating out the last FOUR ex sets. So, the next year (I know, jumping the gun, here) it will be DP5-on (DP5 most likely having the Eevees). That means that we will have the least time to play with Great Encounters. While I like Palkia/Dialga/Darkrai, I'd rather have those Eeveelutions for a longer time than have them be in the set that will be around for the least amount of time. JMO.

Well surely some of the old trainers (ex PK and below) will still be legal.

Yeah, and don't forget the one (me, ahem) who went to japan and got that Dialga Lv X and traded it to you... LOL.. :thumb:

5 sets in, and we still will not have received all of the pokemon from this series! Looks like it could be on to set 6 or 7 for the legendaies, Regigas, that little hedgehog thingy, Areus, and more...

Wow, Neo only had 4 sets, and I think we had all the RS pokemon in 4 (HL was the final straw for new pokes wasn't it?)

WOW.

Nope, Gen III roster wasn't complete until the inclusion of Deoxys in you guess it, EX Deoxys while the Gen III National Dex wasn't done until Mew appears in EX Legend Maker.

Nope, the normal counterparts in both Dialga and Palkia Lv.X pre-cons are the same as the DP1 ones except with you guess it ... more alternate art!

Anyways, the following Gen IV Pokemon have not appeared yet after DP4 so far:

Yanmega
Gliscor
Mamoswine
Probopass
Froslass (kinda surprised how it isn't in Mysterious Treasures when Snorunt and Gialie are in it)
Heatran
Giratina
Regigigas
Shaymin
Arceus

Given how that only the Gen III Legendary Golems (the three Regis) are the only trio have not appeared yet, the chance of Regigigas appearing along with the three Regis in the same set should be quite high while Shaymin, Arceus will appear when the sets released along with the movies they are featured. The other Legendaries are as good as anyones' guess =/

The japanesse theme decks all came with a lvl X.
:dark:-darkrai lvl X
:metal:-dialga lvl X
:water:palkia lvl X

There is no Darkrai lv X theme deck. Palkia and Dialga lv X had their own theme decks, where their artwork was changed from the normal DP3 booster pack editions of them, possibly to not decrease the rarity of the booster pack lv Xes.

I have to ask, why is it that the Eeveelutions won't likely appear in Great Encounters?

Wait up:

There are 8 Lv. Xs we know of that we don't have in English, right? Palkia, Dialga, Darkrai, Cresselia, Leafeon, Glaceon, Porygon Z, and Garchomp.

We're basically guaranteed Palkia and Dialga in this upcoming set. The press release says that Cresselia and a new, powerful legendary guy (obviously Darkrai) will also appear. But there's no guarantee that both Cresselia and Darkrai will get their Lv. X forms in Great Encounters. 4 Lv. X in one set is an awkward number. On the flip side, since there are 8 Lv. Xs we don't have, 4 per set would catch us right up.

Some are also saying that we might get all of them except for Porygon Z and Garchomp. Personally I think that would be awesome, but to suddenly go from 2 and 3 Lv. Xs per set to 6 is an even weirder jump than that of the speculated 4...

Anybody know for sure when we'll know what's what in Great Encounters?
