What was the best KO-Fest you ever had in a single game?

My daughter and I were playing a team battle and she had Tyranitar. Our opponents had taken 3 prizes and we had taken none (I believe the rules were that you played for 5 prizes at the time). She attacked with Tyranitar, knocking out one of our opponent's active Pokemon, then proceeded to...

    Rant on Pokemon-TCG.com

I couldn't agree MORE. I dislike most everything about that site. Too much Flash animation, the red-on-red text, the honeycomb background - I just hate it. And those bleeping sounds! Ugh. I wish they would "simplify" the page and make it more usable instead of going for "flashiness."

    Flygod Returns

[message removed] LOL, nm. Dumb stuff makes me laugh.

    Shuffling Cards

If you can see the card faces while shuffling, you have information about your deck that you should not have. You have a pretty good feel of what cards are where (particularly what is at the bottom and, if you are using easily identifiable cards, such as the Regis, you see where they are in the...

    Shuffling Cards

I always shuffle when the deck is offered to me. I've had only one player complain at which point I told him "Either I can shuffle it or a judge can shuffle it, but it's getting shuffled." Funny funny stuff.

    'Spirit of the League'

Actually I love Hedgefoxidna's deck idea. I don't see how such a deck, built to win, is in violation of the "spirit of the league" at all.

    SalaTech

That's why I recommend just splashing it in. But first, it's easy to get a Pidgey. Just pull it with the Paras attack. It's easy to get a Pidgeot - Celio's Network. The tough thing is getting the Rare Candy. Once you have Pidgeot, getting the 2nd Stage 2 out is no problem.

    SalaTech

Let me say this about Pidgeot - I like it, a lot. But lately I've been going with a 1-0-1 line (and 4 Rare Candies for it and other things). It's not a card that you should rely on having, but when you have it, it's pretty incredible. You're able to get exactly the card you want EVERY turn...

    Worlds Prize Structure

Next time, give the players the choice of either the scholarship money or more product. Their choice. I'm sure they'll find something to complain about anyway.

    Worlds Prize Structure

I know this has been touched on, but did Gencon 2003 kind of warp our sense of "fair prizes"? Let's not forget that Nintendo gave out (per my calculations) over $100,000 in scholarship money. That may not be boxes of cards, but I don't think it's a bad deal.

    SalaTech

I'll throw my 2 cents in. I like it a lot. But I have two concerns. First, I'm right there with you on Parasect. 4-4 Paras/Parasect plus 4 Celio's Network. I keep wondering if there would be some way to throw in 2 Wally's Training. Not sure what to take out, but that would give you...

Double Weakness - Double the damage?

I find it hard to believe that we are doubling the damage twice for double weakness. It's always been my interpretation that Weakness (and Resistance) are asking a question: Am I facing something that I am weak (or resistant) to? If the answer is Yes, then you apply weakness (or...

    Worlds Prize Structure

I don't think I've ever seen a discussion turn from what started as a legitimate discussion of prizes to a "Me-Fest." Joner made some good points originally. Unfortunately, his comments since have made it seem like his motivation for those comments were nothing but greed. (Not saying that's...
