There must have been a way to get those top cuts.

No, there were no ghostplayers, but even had some of the players been ghostplayers 16 is still way too much to cut from 28. I think most of the (serious) players would have preferred top 8, it's the impression I got from our discussions anyway.
 
AFAIK that Sean, you and me seriously agreed that T8 is enough for Masters :/

Seniors and Juniors seems to be fine, as it always get extended a bit and always be T4,T8,T8 for the past 2 years...
 
I believe Marcus also agrees; he came across that way when we discussed it today. That makes the top four seeds. And it is over 50%. I'm not liking this T16 at all.
 
The top cut doesn't sound legit To me. If it isn't POP may not sanction the tournament and invites could be lost.
 
If you look throughout the thread, you should have seen the information for the top cut seeds and their decks.
 
No luck on a change yet. As another player (though not a participant) pointed out, Frank is ruling for "fairness" over the precedents of POP recommendations and Australian Nats history, which has always had a top 8 for Masters (we're simply not big enough to warrant a bigger cut).

The problem is that the TOP states "guidelines" and "should be", not "rules" and "must be".
 
When I heard Seniors was top8, and masters was top16, i was like o____O

but someone told me bout possible ghostplayers, but im pretty sure there were none...

well i dont mind t4 but i would like that extra game.

as for the change, its mmy fault and also sam and jareds fault for paying frank 18$
 
Last year, we had 23 players for Masters which is just about enough for a Top 8 cut.
For Seniors was T8 for Seniors with 17 players and T4 for juniors with 12.Both Juniors and Masters was legit last year according to the rules.

This year, should be corrected before the 2nd day starts >_<
 
T8 is at least, y'know, half-reasonable for Seniors, Aaron, since you have 21 players. T16 for 28 Masters players is laughable. =/

I didn't see any ghostplayers; all the Melburnians there are regular players (or at least regular tournament players), and I can't imagine people paying to go interstate just to ghost.
