2 out of 3 matches

As I am still not allowed to discuss in the Professor forum (grrrrrr), I post my question and opinion here (where it does belong also).

How do you officially resolve this problem, when the time expired in the second or third game?

Example:
Both players won 1 game each. When time expired, Player A has 4 prizes, Player B has 2 prizes.

From the floor rules:
If time for the match has been called, the current player is allowed to finish their turn. At the end of that turn, the player with the least amount of Prize cards left is considered the winner. If both players have an equal number of Prize cards, the game is a draw. Tournaments that include multiple-game matches check games won by each player. If both players have the same number of game wins for that round, the match is a draw.

This is not completely clear from the floor rules, I think.
The sentence "Tournaments that include multiple-game matches check games won by each player." seems to say: Oh great, each player won one game, the third game is not won by anyone, so it is a draw. But then we have the sentence: "At the end of that turn, the player with the least amount of Prize cards left is considered the winner." and so forth. Now there is no specific sentence saying that this apply to multiple-game matches as well. But it does not say as well that it is only meant for single-game matches.

Long ago in Wizards time, the sentences in their floor rules were very similiar. The answer from the Professor mailing list for multiple- game matches were:
* Incomplete games at the end of the time count as drawed games. No prizes are counted. This does not depend on, whether it is the first, second or third game.
* Games, where both players win at the same time, are considered a draw. No sudden deatch will be performed. This is even valid for single-game matches!!!
* So the winner is, who has won the most COMPLETED games.
* Recommend time for best-of-3-matches is 60 minutes.
* The alternate scoring system (counting # of prizes) is only used for single-game.
* There will be no time extenses for drawed games (except for eliminiation play).

I use this system since Januray 2003 and it always worked well. The new floor rules IMO do not say something against this system, so I kept it (as long as I kept the Wizards Penalty Guidelines for assigning penalties).

But I think, we really need an official answer to that (and I need to get the Professor forum access in order to discuss with you *grrrrrrr).
