His Gym name is dld4a. Was it him who made the top cut?

Oh, and Vince, looks like you're laughing yourself to sleep now! Geez, 3rd place, very good, my friend, very good.
Yes that was me and Vince took me out top eight. We ran very simular decks but he had better lines. Nice job to all! very fun event!

THIS was posted where all the professors would be able to check it whenever they needed to.
Actually, that was in the demo area in the exhibit/sales hall, not in the TCG hall where the events were running...

Thanks for the props, everyone. I still can't quite believe I pulled it off. Quite simply, I had the most amazing rolls of all time in top cut, I swear I hit 80% heads. And I drafted trip Adventurers. Helps. See everyone at Worlds!

Best story of the week!

The Bye sucks, doesn't it?

Congrats to StephenK for winning the Professor Cup. Once again, I lose in the playoffs to the eventual Cup champ. But that's okay, I had lots of fun playing against Vince in the consolation match.

Against Vince, I was hoping to avenge my Swiss round lose where he 1st-turn Misdreavious'd me and kept me asleep FOREVER! I had a good start in the first game and beat him with his weakness. In the 2nd game, he started quicker, so I stalled using status effects and Foresight. With Vince up 3 prizes-taken to 1, I turned the game around and won, once again using his weakness. But, since I already had a 3rd place Cup (2002) and 2nd place last year, I decided to be nice and conceded so Vince could get a cup too, especially since he did so well and is such a nice guy, AND the prize loot, other than the trophy, was identical. Plus, Vince needed his own trophy to go on the mantle with all those other trophies won by his kids.

In the semis, StephenK had a very fast deck and drafted 4 Adventurers and other fast stuff. It wasn't even close for me against his amazing starts and my lousey starts.

In the Top 8, I beat DanaL with a barrage of top decking. I even amazed myself on how much I was "pulling stuff out my ..." Had I been able to do the same against StephenK, I'd be playing for the Cup (and Trip).

In Top 16, I beat Rob from OK in 3 matches, definately my toughest match in the playoffs by stalling with Foresight to set up my Eggsecutor.

In the swiss rounds, my most amazing match was against KimC who had me "completely on the ropes." My only hope was to sleep-stall him for 4 turns. I put him to sleep when he had 4 cards left in his deck. He them proceeded to snooze, waking up only once I believe at the wrong time (end of his turn), until I decked him for the win, my second decking-my-opponent win in swiss.

Thanks to all the organizers and judges for a GREAT Cup! I trully enjoyed the experience!

Props to Matt Moss for HJ-ing. In one game, he had to make a tough call when I discovered that Vince and I had accidently swapped Stadiums after playing each other in the previous round. "Warning" for both Vince and I, my first Warning in OP. I'm glad it wasn't sanctioned! :)

Props again to Matt for making one of the funniest comments. While handing out the boosters in his red judge's shirt, he shouted "Ho ho ho!"

Props to MikeL from POP for doing a wonderful job of running my most enjoyable Cup ever! And, for the WONDERFUL 4th place prize-loot, including a DS-lite and Trozei! game. Only top 2 got DS systems last year.

Props to young Judge Ben for continually correctly the Professors on forgotten supporters, unmarked status effects, and other stuff.

I did much better this year, 4-2 going into the final swiss round when I went up against BenLugia.
My resistance was horrible, though, and I wouldn't make the cut even if I had won, so I'm glad Ben's Arcanine ex took out my Arcanine ex and was able to make the top 16 cut.

Great job Steven. Steven is also from Albany, NY not Mass. Woot Professor Cup Champion plays at our League. Congrats to Nick Cap too to make it an all NorthEast final!!

Props:
Mossy for being a great HJ
My mini-Judges, Ben S, Geoff S, Demi R, Dylan L, and Jonathan M
Greg S, Rick L and Mike M for letting me put your kids to work
Everyone that played

Slops:
The judges, for not allowing me to rules lawyer BDS in round 3.
My 4-3 record :(
Buca di Beppo

I had lots of fun. Somehow I managed to get Shiftry into play every match except for the last one (where all I got was a Root Fossil and a hand full of energy).

I played Chrisbo one round. They messed up the names on our match slip. From now on, his name is "outcher".
