Armor Fossil. One of the two new fossil cards released in MT. Like all previous fossil cards, it counts as a Basic Pokemon while in play, can't be affected by special conditions, can't attack and can't retreat.
Poke Body is the best I have seen for a fossil, reducing it's abillity to be ko'ed.
Modified: 5/10 The only reason you would play this is if you ran Bastiadon in your deck.

Fossils in general have always been plagued with odd text and still more odd Pokemon that they evolve into. Very rarely will a Fossil Pokemon be ran because most of them suck to begin with and often are not worth the effort to bring out.

Anyways, Armor Fossil has great stalling potential if you are good at flipping heads, but since they now count as a prize if they're KOed, not such a great idea for stalling unless you are using a double-headed coin. Back in the old days before they counted as a KO, this would have easily been ran in 4s with Wailord EX or Politoed EX. But now days, completely pointless unless you're using Bastiodon, who I don't recommend you use anyways.

Modified - 1/10 (No point in this card except for Bastiodon, who sucks anyways. If they had the old Fossil rules still, it'd be better for stalling)
Limited - 2/10 (Even if you could get the Evo line out of the booster packs, unless you're packing Fossil Excavation with it, I highly recommend not running a Fossil line)
Unlimited - 1/10 (Base Set Gastly is better)

I never liked fossils and their evolutions (well I do like fossil Aerodactyl). This is one of those fossils I don't like. It's body does nothing special. You can't use Celio, Mentor, PETM, BeBe, or any GOOD supporter to fetch it. Just Fossil Excavator. It's stage 2 is another fossil that I don't like since it only has one attack that takes 3 energy and has a bad weakness and has an ugly retreat cost. This card isn't even good enough to play, but don't keep it in the binder! It isn't cool like Charizard. so it should just stay in a musty shoe box on the floor. There is no point in keeping a card in a binder if nobody will ever trade for it, and you don't even want to looke at it. That is where I keep mine. 2/10 modified (only super ultra bad cards deserve a 1/10, like Imakuni) This card may see some play as time progresses, but I doubt it.

Ahhh fossils... Ancient, Rare and... unusable :frown:

With the new rule, the new fossils lost part of its power...

Can be retrieved with Budew or another card that search for trainers, but come on... who will use his attack to search for a fossil? Excavator is a bad translated Supporter... if it can get the whole line, perhaps fossils will make something...

Evolutions: Not bad, not good. Bastiodon will be the unique Bench protector in DP-ON format (When it arrives ) Now: Use Dugtrio.

Unlimited: 0/10 (What?)
Limited: 2/10 (If you can get the Line, could be useful)
Modified: 3/10 (Bastiodon is a great Pokemon, but not now...)

Ummm....

It's a Fossil........It can't attack......It sucks..........why are we reviewing a Fossil for CotD? Couldn't we review a card sleeve with a picture of Justin Timberlake banging his head on his desk as he realizes he has no talent, instead?

Unlimited: 0/10
It sucks. You will never get to play it. it will sit in your hand, gazing into your eyes with hate and intrigue, while watching TRL on Telemundo.

Modified: 2/10
This card IS Modified! Modified to SUCK! Sadly, the suck gene is carried on throughout its evolved family, making this wadded-up mass of pre-chewed crackers nearly worthless.

Limited: 1/10
You should always play any Trainer cards you get out of your six packs. However, that does not include this card unless you have a rigged coin, which would be funny, mean, and utterly resultless given the prize support for pres. Yes, this card sucks so bad that it made me unable to think of the correct term for "resultless."

Sigh if only the creator of the cards wouldnt change that dumb rule where your opponent draws a prize card. It would have been a great stall card and would fit well in a Bastiodon deck. His body is okay but im not a big fan of coin flipping so its an alright card. 50 HP is pretty average i suppose but for a fossil card, thats considerred alot.

Modified- I wouldnt see too much use out of any deck and not many players would play Bastiodon. 2/10

Limited- This would fit perfectly when playing the pre release but thats if you manage to pull out the full evolution line. 6/10

Unlimited- Root fossil is waaay better as a stall card and so is clefairy doll. Baby rules are better (stall wise) since your opponent has to flip to attack the baby pokemon. 1/10

If wasnt for the new fossil rule.. it would be 10/10 however...in modified, its only...let's say..4/10. Shame. Total shame.
