Note: This card has just received errata. It can not place enough damage counters on itself to Knock Out itself. 10 HP must remain from doing Ghost Head.

Still a decent card, but probably not good enough for the format right now. It beats Gardy/Gallade but has trouble against Magmortar varients.

With the Shuppet from CG it's really fast, but I think we wont see it that much, when CG isn't modified anymore. And with the new Errata, it's nearly useless with 7 damage counters on it.

Sure it has speed, but almost no durability. Playing this in a straight T2 deck is tricky since they faint so fast, that the Shuppets often times can't be recovered fast enough. It is good against Gallade/Gardevoir, but not really anything else unless it can donk their only Pokemon from play. Banette has some trouble taking out Furret, commonly found in my area, and it has a lot of trouble with knocking out Absol when there any damage already on Banette (Absol has resistance to the second attack). It has a lot of trouble standing up late game, especially when against Stage Twos with beastly HP and Attack. Usually if a game goes on too long, its time to call GG. It is best played with Lake Boundary in this format.

I really don't recommend playing it, it didn't do me any favors. 6.3/10

Awesome card, great for T2 kill, wish the eratta would have come sooner, I lost a game because it got to sudden death from that attack!

Love this card! I agree with Mew * that it isn;t that great staying alive, and is bad late game, but something that gets powerful late game, aka Blissey, fixes that. I may be the only one that thinks this, but I give it a 10/10.

I still don't get why everyone's upset about Banette not being able to KO itself to place 8 damage counters onto the defending...self-KO always seemed like a dumb move to me.

Anyways, Banette is a solid card, best used for a T2 deck or something. 80 HP is average, +20 Weakness to Dark isn't as harmful since the only decent Dark Pokemon even used for attacking is Honchkrow, -20 Resistence to Colorless is wonderful for Blissey matches, and a Retreat Cost of 1 is typical. Ghost Head, with its new errata, only lets you place a maximum of 7 damage counters onto itself and the defending Pokemon. Granted, you now can't kill Banette to (presumably) kill the opponent's Pokemon if they have 80 HP left, but for being a free attack, it's decent still. Spiteful Pain does a solid 40 for 2 Psychic energy, but if you have a Banette in your discard, you can shuffle it back into your deck and deal an additional 40 for a total of 80. The only problem I see with Banette is maintaining this damage consistently, but I guess it's possible.

Modified - 7/10 (Still useful for G&G and Blissey match-ups)
Limited - 5/10 (Decent Stage 1, but not being up to its full potential since it's unlikely you'll get 2 or more Banette)
Unlimited - 1/10 (No use here)

play it a bit more, then you'll see...

beautiful card, crystal beach and cessation...sorted.

9/10 (could use 10 more hp)

It's insanely fast so it's a good card for sure.

Im thinking that it needs some sort of backup or combo with other pokemon. Electrode comes to my mind...

It sucks that it can't KO itself, but it is still a good & fast card. It does beat Gardilade and some others.....

Makes a good T2 deck though.

7/10

I think SW Banette's 15 minutes is up, errata or no. Sure, it's fast and causes problems for G&G decks, but it's rather fragile. :dark: Weakness will be a problem in the near-future, thanks to Darkrai Lvl. X. Sableye CG is a good counter for G&G decks.

All in all, I give Banette SW a 3/5.
