With the loss of dre and scramble the format will slow down and allow the slower decks like magmotar and emploleon to compete on a level footing with GG which is nice for me (I lost to mainly GG this season) there will be a lot more main decking of things like togekiss typlohsion and leafeon lvx to make up for the lack of dre hopefully we will see a lot more deck variatation now there is not so much fear of turn 2 gallade going beat down on you

^That's right, less speed, more time.
Which means we should get a longer round time or else time will kill us all!

Felcity's Drawing will replace TV Reporter (already had for me).

The loss of DRE reduces everything that's fast to under-costed attacks and NRG Accel. Which is hilarious, because unless I missed something, the only DP-on card that can stop a T1-2 Togekiss is Alakazam.

Kisskiss FTW.

Edit: NVM, you could also bench a Mesprit to kill Poke-Powers for a turn. Ew.

A T2 Glaceon Lvl X (only possible with Rare Candy or Phione's Evolutionary Wish, currently) would be another possible counter to Togekiss.

The begining of the format will be rather odd, let's hope PUI/POP are able to create a more varied format next year a lot earlier than US Nationals. Hopefully the upcoming POP sets will sprinkle in some favorite cards that rotated out, but it seems like those days have ended.

Felcity's Drawing will replace TV Reporter (already had for me).

and Bebe's Search will OBVIOUSLY replace Celio's. I don't see why people are complaining though. If you end up using the card you got then that's one more card for Claydol.

No more Banette, Blissey, Delcatty energy accelerating, and to a lesser extent the G&G/Plox decks. It's only because of the CG Shuppet that Banette was good and for Blissey it was the Holon energies and boost. And to reiterate what everyone else said G&G was made good by DRE and Scramble. It was a good feeling to be down in prizes then slap a scramble onto gallade and make a nice comeback. Anyway, Empoleon/Glaceon, Sceptile Varients, and Garchomps, those will be I think some of the main decks plus MagPhlosian.

I expected this to be MT-on.... Didnt anybody else??? DP had 2 seasons already, why should it have a 3rd?? This news may be too early to tell, but if it's true, wow...........

"No Boosts, no TV Reporter, no Holon Energies? I'm lost as to what would make Blissey remotely considerable."

Energy Switch ;p

No....
Knew it was coming but still...

No Copy Cat , Stevens advice etc.

No PK.
All my lovely dark pokemon gone...

Sad seeing as PK was preaty much all I had left after my folder got ropped (5 LV Xs....20+ Holo Rares,20+ RHs...).

Maybe Ill try and make a Darkrai deck...

No Boosts, no TV Reporter, no Holon Energies? I'm lost as to what would make Blissey remotely considerable.

What would make Blissey considerable? Well, how about:

Lunatone/Solrock, Claydol, Felicity's, Plus Power, PokéHealer, Stark Mountain, lack of fast OHKOers among the opponents.

The reason why Blissey somewhat died out wasn't because it was weak to Gallade - it was because Magmortar and Gallade could both KO it too fast with the help of Scramble Energies IMO. With the two of them slowed down, and the format once again returned back to attacking several times before you draw each prize card, Blissey will be strong again. Healing with Blissey is broken too - we never got to play Blissey with Life Herb like they do/did in Japan, but now we'll get to try it with PokéHealer :D

Huricane's gone :(

Well, no surprise here. Any other format would've be really weird (maybe not MT-on, but still ...). I do really like the new format, though. Except losing Celio's Network and Delcatty, but I'll get over it. I think the metagame now will be dominated be Empoleon, with a few Infernape, Garchomp, Eeveelutions-varients and G&Gs going round. Maybe a little Blissey too. And AMU. And Kaputops/Omastar/Aerodactyl. And Magmortar. And maybe even Beedrill. Man, this format is going to be very varied.

As someone who plays a bit of Unlimited analyzing Modified right now, I don't see variation, I see a pair of archetypes with a few different variations: Turbo Stage2 and Toolbox. The best examples right now are Empoleon (or GG) and Eeveelution, but there really isn't a lot else in the format. Just turbo [whatever], with Eeveelution being a more flexible variation of it...

It really has changed since the old days where there were 3-4 distinct types (haymakers, stalls, turbo evolutions such as rain dance, and if you call Arcanine or Wiggly type decks distinct too, that goes up to 5)

What's going to make this DP-on format interesting?
