A pretty OK card. It is hard to fit into many lists but can be effective in a Darkrai deck, since junk-hunting for it may be worthwhile.

Also its coolest application in my opinion is "L33tmor"
Here is the deck list.

Pokemon:
4 Heatmor PLS

Trainers:
4 Ether
2 Skyla

Energy:
50 Fire Energy

This deck is shockingly good and ether compliments it nicely.

6/10 Play
2/10 Art

Incredibly overrated. Doesnt really do that much on its own. The need to combine it with Pokedex makes it really lack luster. 2 cards just to play an energy isnt worth it. Better off just using whatever energy acceleration options out there. Shooting in the dark for energy is bad. It should just say "flip a coin, if heads attach an energy off the top of your deck. You may ignore the coin flip if you have Pokedex in hand".

3/10. Sounds harsh but its not just not that good. I have no idea how it gets high ratings whne its not even a competitive card.

Energy acceleration is and always will be broken, especially in trainer form. Ether provides energy acceleration to any type that needs it. Metal, Grass, Fighting, and Psychic now have a way to get energy on the field. The catch is that the energy has to be at the top of the deck. This does limit it, but as we know, there are ways to manipulate the top cards of your deck (lunatone pokedex). It's still not foul proof, but it gets the job done.

9/10 I have to be straight. Wors well with energy acceleration decks
Such as: Blastoise-Keldeo, Darkrai EX-Hydreigon

This card is alright with Pokedex, but it's still underwhelming. It takes up so much room, you need both in hand for it to work (unless you wanna gamble), and even then you can still whiff on 5 cards. When it works, it can be powerful, but that's not entirely too often. Lunatone looked okay on paper, but 2 cards just wasn't enough and Lunatone just wasn't worth it.

I feel like this card has a lot of potential, but it would need the right partners. Let's face it, if you could use this card almost all the time for an energy, it would be incredible. A Pokemon would probably have to go with it, something that either isn't useless when you're not Ethering or that's very easy to get out. Something like Smooth Over Magcargo from DX or Mantine DF comes to mind. Otherwise, if this just combos with other trainers similar to Pokedex, then you're always gonna need both in hand for it to work and that's just not as reliable as playing off of something like an Ability.

6.5/10
