Eviolite is still a very solid card, the problem is that there are more ways to get around it these days. Tool Scrapper is seeing a rise in play thanks to Garbodor, Black Kyurem EX OHKO's everything even with Eviolite(excluding the Tornadus EX/Aspertia combo, but I don't see that much anymore), and Cobalion EX ignores the effect altogether. On top of that, the ever-popular Laser/Virbank combo ignores this effect, and deals more damage than Eviolite absorbs, possibly landing a knockout in some scenarios anyway. Darkrai decks seem to be gravitating towards Dark Claw more as well, thus offsetting each other somewhat.

Before Plasma Storm, I probably would've given this card a 9. Now, a 6. More decks have built-in counters for this card, and ways to render it ineffective. I have no idea how effective this will be after future sets come out, though.

7.5/10

It's still a cool card, but it doesn't seem as necessary as it was before for reasons posted above. The best use I have for it is taking the sting out of self damaging attacks (like Zekrom or Reshiram EX). It's especially good with Zekrom because you can effectively trade blows with EXes.
