Today at about 11:15 A.M. a 6.5 quake hit Central California centered in San Simeon, CA and put a pretty big damper on nearby Paso Robles and Templeton. I live about 10 miles from Paso Robles, which if any of you saw the news, that is where the buildings that are messed up are. It was pretty scary and we were lucky here to have no one hurt and suprisingly nothing broke. It was a long earthquake too and unfortanutely I believe there were around 5 or so fatalities ranging from Santa Maria to Paso Robles. It was said that some felt the quake in Los Angeles and San Francisco. I guess with an earthquake like this, you can expect that either the fault and plates are very active and it is likely another could occur in California or that there will not be another major earthquake for about 10 years again. The last big one was in Salinas which was i believe a 5.7 and of course the LA earthquake in '94.
