Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

A less diverse format

The more and more I think about it, I do agree that there does seem to be less diversity. Looking at many of the decks being posted, most are a hodgepodge of Absol with X, X usually being Honchkrow, Blissey, or Lucairo. Though there is the potential for this format to be more diverse with all the great cards we've been getting, I guess we just stick with the safer bets to win.

I mean it may seem that way but it isnt, the HP-PK is playable except for certain cards:

Flygon d Ex DF
Flygon HP
Ray Ex DF
Delcatty PK and Ex
Castaway
and some other trainers

Dp-DP3 is only three sets that are really playable, around this time we at least had around 6-7 playable sets to use,now we only really have three, and more to come,so it seems that way,but it will get more diverse

I know that at the league I run, it's really casual and so it's more diverse. A lot of the kids don't have access to lots of Blissey and Absol and Honchkrow, so we see a lot of Ampharos, Lucario, Empoleon, and Torterra. It's a lot mroe diverse. Also, I give the players 10 points if they build a deck revolving around the type of the season. That encourages the players to think a bit.
