A Nats Report for the Masses.....

The First part will be about my dismal showing with a great deck.

So the basis of my deck is:
Bannett
Raichu
Dugtrio
W/ Cess Crystal and Fishing Engine.

When I didn't get lucked out and the deck had more than 2/3 turns to operate (I was turn 2 twice and turn 3 once out of my 4 loses. 4th loss, full match to time, I whiffed on lake boundary for the win) it ran like a champ. I really love it.

For matches I did win:
3 Empoleon
1 Torterra
1 GG

Nancy was the Champ out of the Lynch Mob this Nats. Going 6-0 for a run, then finishing 8-3 in the full top 32. She made it past her Pod's top 32. Great Job Dear!:thumb:

She played GG w/Mismagius and Dusknoir.
She played 5 GG's in row, winning them all. Lost to one GG later due to her Gardy LvX was her last prize.

As for Dale, He did as well as most of his friends he runs with @ 5-3.
A little bad luck and not enough testing is what I think did him in.

He went with what I call a power lock deck:
Gardy/Glaceon LvX

He likes it allot and we have already found some tweaks we wish we had before (lack of testing part).

ON TO THE INFORMATION FOR THE MASSES....

Well do to the turn 2/3 donks; I had time to write down some statistics. This help me get past the frustration on the donks (well till it happened again). The bad thing is, it is only on the yellow pod. I beg and pleaded with judges and Mike to try and get statistics for Blue pod at round 8 (they sat towards the middle of the area and at this time there was a row gap to easily stand behind). But no one allowed in fear of something I will find out. :confused:

So with the yellow pods 1-23 seats (aver. of 46 people) being easy to see the deck at a 15 sec glance, I did tallies on the decks I saw for 2 different rounds, 4/8th.

At round 4 at yellow pod seats 1-23 were:
GG=14 decks
Empeleon=13 decks
Eevee= 6 decks
Skittles=1
Houndoom=1
Bannett=1
Rogue=3

At round 8 at yellow pod seats 1-23 were:
GG=20 decks
Empeleon=13 decks
Eevee= 2 decks
Bannett=1
Blissey( includes Sausage)=5
Meatlof=1
Rogue=1

So as I see, Blissey made a showing in 8th round when none was to be seen at 4th round.
Eevee decks took a big hit over the past 4 rounds from the beginning.
Emp stayed consistent and GG just surpassed.

Hope you all enjoyed and use the information well.
Even thou we have the info for the top 32 decks, I feel showing how decks do during the tourney are just as important as what won. :biggrin:

Dana,

Sorry to hear you ran into numerous bad beats at this year's nationals - believe me, I know how it feels! :tongue:

Anyways, I too am a metagame junky. If I had it my way, then POP would let us know every list...of every player...in every tourney. Your findings (as well as Nancy's matchups) show how dominant GG was - no joke.

Good job regardless.
You can't do anything against donks or being in a pod against your favor.
I understand why you would be angry about the whole pod thing, BUT in the judge's favor they were trying to run the smoothest event they could. They knew couldn't please everyone, and that's just the way it is.
You did good managing to beat many strong metagame decks. It's a shame that bad luck gets the best of players at such an important tournament.
