Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

A response to those wanting details on decks played

I thought it was Toys R Us Kid that the name rolled from.

ToysRUsKid came up with the original Rampardos deck, which was named after him. Decks after that, we just found it funny to name decks "_____ TRUK" and have it be a pun, which stuck, and turned into our code for all the TRUKs that pokegym will eventually see this year.

Well said everyone. These TRUK players still have to mention their main pokemon if they want to write reports which will make everyone happy.

There's also Fire TRUK and Icecreak TRUK...according to these people :/

Who cares if they have 50 more TRUKs coming down the internet highway at ya. As long as they post a Poke with their reports, it is fine with me. As for the trainer engine, leave that alone, unless the player of said deck wants to post it. (Probably already known and used by others too, truth be known!)

I think that people that don't want to share what deck they use shouldn't bother making a report because this is just stupid, "i had a bad hand but i still t2'd TRUK'd him" thats just sooo what, stupid.

Vince, demanding that your judges refrain from revealing decks is a bit extreme - way too big of an "iron fist."

I don't read many tournament reports or results by tournament officials coming out of the Midwest because quite frankly, they're lame.

Pokemon is a game of "what" won, not "who" won. Don't bother posting anything less; otherwise, you're just boasting, or worse, spamming, and I'm just too busy to read such junk.

I agree.

Preventing deck checking judges to reveal entire lists is one thing - the entire list isn't public knowledge. But denying judges to tell the internet's public what the general public of town X got to see at last weekend's BR is IMHO very strange.

Sorry Vince, but I must say I really disagree on this. When your judges (and 10 regular players) watch a final match, and it's clearly revealed to everyone currently present that the winner is using Blissey/Electivire, your judges have to keep it a secret online?

So who got the big reward?
Oh nevermind that got closed!

:lol::lol::lol:

A "..." instead of a "!" would have been a bit more effective but a big lol none the less.

I don't see why everyone is going all emo over all of this.

The TRUK engine is Blissey and Electabuzz d. Wow. I see how it works. But really...I saw a 7/8 year old at my league using that...Is it really that big of a secret? Are the "creators" of this "secret combo" 7/8 year olds?

If I wanted to read absolute noobish tournament reports I would go to Serebii...You guys are supposed do be the cream of the crop when it comes to the TCG. And yet you post something that barely expands over "i donked a noob den i lost a gam den i donk 4 more nubs and i wun."

Anyone who cannot write a decent article/report shouldn't be posting one =X

Explain how a Rampardos deck can use Blissey and Electabuzz to set up and please explain to me how Blissey is even a setup card.

That's what I thought... stop making up random crap and calling us little kids because you're absolutely clueless.

His confusion is caused by the excessive secretness.
It is your own fault. Don't act all superior.
If you keep things secret to such a degree, don't get down on people who don't know what you know.
If you want them to know what "TRUK" means, then tell them.
Otherwise, tell them it's a secret engine.
Don't bash them for your own secretiveness!

The CO Rockies beat the SD Padres in the 1-game NL wild card playoff. I'm not going to tell you how the Rockies did it because that might be giving something away that the PA Phillies can use against them on Wednesday. But, it was a very exciting game and finish last night at Coors field.

So, that's all I'm going to tell you. Pretty lame, yeah?

For a much better report of the game, read the following yahoo report:

A tournament report isn't worth the paper it's written on (or disk space it's saved on) if it doesn't catch the readers' attention with the "juicy" details.

200 here!

$250...Do I hear a $250!?! Going once...Going twice...

And Desert Eagle, I guess I have to apoligize for saying the TRUK engine was Blissey and Electabuzz. You see. I made that assumption based on the fact that only one of your groupies had the guts, nay, the common sense AND decency to say what he was playing.

Don't go off your nut at me when you provide nothing for anything to be based off. All you do is go around and say "ZOMG TRUK IS TEH AWESUMNEZZ!".

I hear the mets are weak to them.
