Ancient Trait Alpha Growth

A few pokemon in the Primal Clash (including Primal Kyogre) have the ancient trait Alpha Growth. It's text reads: "When you attach an Energy card from your hand to this Pokémon (except with an attack, Ability, or Trainer card), you may attach 2 Energy cards."
I have a few questions about how this should work.
1. Does the "2 Energy cards" in the text mean you can attach 2 extra energy cards for a total of 3 or only 1 extra for a total of 2? (The plain English reading says should be 3, but it seems too good)
2. On attaching an energy card to Primal Kyogre, can I choose to use the trait to attach an energy to a different Pokemon or must the extra attachment also be to Primal Kyogre?
3. Does Garbo Toxin shut down this effect or are Ancient Traits not counted as abilities?
4. If the trait is not an ability, does the trait stack? ie. I attach an energy from my hand to Primal Kyogre triggering the trait. I chose to attach another energy to Primal Kyogre which triggers the trait again. etc (once again my plain reading says yes but if all of my interpretations are correct the card would be way too good.)

4. No, just one extra attachment. There is no other way to attach the second energy that you are talking about.
