Anti Wailord Tech

did noone notice that electrode ohkos it on the front page of this thread, and that electrode, if necessary can EASILY be teched into gallade, and MAYBE morter, instead of haveing to play vire to counter a counter then get pwned by the decks wailord counters, the 2 decks you know you will see

It OHKO's it if you don't tech in a Weakness Remover. As ahs been mentioned, Rayquaza d form HP with a Holon WP attached takes care of that, and Ray can serach it out on it's own! So hte Wekness issue can be maintained.

Wailord will make for some interesting situations in the format, but as always, the rogue player will come up with a counter to it and hopefully take the behemoth down!!

Blasty is also a nice way of going here, but you would want to go with 4 Smeargle since we don't have Lass ot get the energy out faster!!

4 Smeargle
4-4 Wailord
3-2-2-1 (SW, CG) Blasty

and some major trainer acceleration!!

good ideas, so i would have to tech 1-1 trode and 1 cessation, since latilock doesn't prevent ray and i wouldn't fit those 2 cards in if i have to realisticly put one cessation too

you don't see the real potential of wailord.

A stage 1 with 200 HP in the bench with a line of 4-2-2-2 gardy lv x knock out many of the pkmn in the metagame with the attack of gardy lv x. premier ball helps in call the lv x more faster and you knock out opponent's pkmn for 2 energys (or 1 double rainbow)

so you say , play it with gardy but no gallade? what sets up for bring down, just wailords attack, and if so what powers it up?

i almost feel that prygon 2 would be easier to run, but it looks like bring down is a huge part of your strategy

obviously with a line of gallade TODDakaESTEBAN, i post the main strategy of the deck.with a huge 200 hp beast in the bench, bring down is a secure opponent ko pkmn

i get it now, that's not a bad idea at all! i just didn't think you listed gallade , i thought you listed 4 ralts 2 kirlia 2 gardy 2 gardy x

honestly i'd like to test your idea out because it's the most suprising one i've seen,

yes, when i see wailor by first time, i think in this idea. I build the deck with japanense cards and he runs well, I have to modify my trainers engine but with gardy lv x in play and wailord, you have a 90% of winning the game. The deck also uses the supporters of the opponent. with that, put in play a gardy lv x is more fast and easy.

Mantyke/Mantine for setup and free retreat?

yeah that would prob work a little better i tryed smeargle in blisstoise and it didn't come in handy as much as you might think so maybe cut 2 of them

You would want at least 3 Smergle (4 is best), so you have a chance at starting with it. The others are discard or shuffle back in fodder later in the game. Assuming you get to attack 2-3 times you are talking about enough energy for 2 Wailord, along with slimming your deck of 6-9 cards. If you use the Fishing Engine (or a modification of it) you should be able to build a Blastoise and at least 1 Wailord by turn 4. Scott/Castaway in another viable option for this as many people seem to build this with a ton of tools and Crystal Beach and/or Battle Frontier to slow down G&G and FireTRUK respectively. The biggest problem I still see is the low damage output.

people played steelix ex just fine and his retreat is so big I thought he was resistant to normal at one point.

lol, I'm so dyslexic I couldn't count how many it was xD

Wailord is cool. A setup version of Wailord (Blastoise, Kiss) is feasible, IMO. I you get a weird start just send him up and I'm sure it will at least by you a few turns.

Almost a pity we aren't getting Call energy, it would make Wailmer starts that much better....

Call energy would be a bad play. With that and wp there's too many colorless providing cards to pay the costs right. Multi TM would rock with Wailord (and maybe in Japan it does)!

Why dont build a deck around Wailord for the use it was designed? STALLING, NOT ATTACKING.

Throw Absols, destroy his/her hand, put Wailords on Bench and active, cure them (Damn... i will regret on that, but Night Pokemon Center anyone?) Nobody mentions leftovers? Let them run out of cards... grrrr... theres isn't enough cards in the format to make a "Pure Staller" Deck... ¬_¬

Nevermind what i said :p

But, 80 isn't too much to a 200-HP Pokemon that can heal like 40 a turn. Also, then the Wailord player won't put down Lefties after.
