Hi,

Is there any information on the results from the Nationals in Japan ?
Are the players invited to this years World's mostly the same as last year ?
Any reports on what was being played ?
Is there modified format different then the U.S format ?

Anyone have any information?

Japanese National Finals are played at the same time as Last Chance Qualifier in San Diego.
At least the Top 8 are. I believe that there is some kind of Tournament in Japan, where Top 8 gets trips and invites to Worlds, where they play quarter-, semi- and finals.

Yeah, so we won't know what won at the Japanese Nationals until the day before Worlds. Whoopie!

Thanks for the responses

I wonder how the winners get ready for Worlds in time
Maybe they plan ahead in case they win, pack and all that
I would think last minute plane tickets might be a bit expense for POP too
If their Nationals format is different then Worlds, unless they already plan and have decks made for worlds, it could be pretty tricky putting together decks in time as well

Just a few observations, based on your responses...............................

I see  ........................................... Does anyone have info on those results

I think in Japan they have qualifier tournaments, and the people that win them win a trip to the Nationals.

Its not that tough for them.

All of the players playing in Japanese Nationals at Worlds already have an Invite. So they can bring their deck with them. However last time they traded for english cards for their decks. i guess everyone will be very careful on what they trade to japanese players.

what they did last year was the top 8 of japans nationals all got a trip to worlds but no invite yet than they play the top 8 at worlds before grinder than if you place top 3 in the japan nationals you get a trip back to japan. so 4th place-8th place has to go to grinder, and has to buy thier ticket back to japan lol

err, no.

Japanese nationals are played at the same time as LCQ.
3 Invites for the country that created the game?

I would image there will be people from many different countries in the grinder. Their son/daughter wins a trip and they don't, or a parent gets an invite and the kids play the grinder :pokeball:

I believe there were japanese in the grinder last year (that's when I heard about Magma)

I could be wrong, but didn't Yamato and his crew win their invites to worlds FROM competing in the grinder?
