Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Attendance at the Sandstorm Prereleases

Brooklyn, NY was 19 total, I think 3/6/10 for the three groups. I ended up 3rd by losing in the last round, but it was a great tournament.

Well, I just got home an hour ago, and this was one of the best Tournaments we've done to date. Everyone had a blast. We gave out lots of stuff between every round , and had enough boosters to give everyone at least 1 for a prize. Of course the top 8 in each age group got many more. I am fairly sure that every single player went home wanting more! Here are the numbers:

Portland Oregon Sandstorm Prerelease, 9/13/03

10 and under - 11 players
11 to 14 - 9 players
15 and over - 22 players

Total Attendance - 42

Hello all........

Here is the official Seattle Sandstorm Pre Release totals...

7 10 & under
13 11-14
16 15 & older

Total 36 Participants..............

(Base - Jungle) Theme decks, holo cards, magazines, 1 oversize card and
lots of last year league pins were given out between rounds.....

Also, the players that finished in 9th place and lower were each
given two Sandstorm Packs as prizes.......

Finally, each player was also given two prerelease cards......

We all had a blast..........

Chattanooga

We had 20 players - would have had 30 if not for cancellations mostly due to travel issues.
Breakdown:
9 for 15+
6 for 11-14
5 for 10-

Several were asking about the next release. I think it may be a huge event. Many of the players expressed a KEEN interest in the rumor that it will be named EX Dragons - they are itching to get their hands on these guys - Charizard who?

We had 95 Players in Orlando, Florida!!!:eek::eek:

Er, well, maybe 62 instead.

Ten and Under: 9
Eleven through Fourteen: 28
Fifthteen and older: 25

Mostly all in attendance played, we only had a few spectators. Can't wait for our first sanctioned tournament on October 18th and for future primere events locally here in Florida.

You guys rock!

eep! Never saw this post. Reply to Brian on the GBA side event in Boston:

GB Battle Tower: 6 or 8 Marril2k should know

We had six, and went for five rounds I think. But I know I had four link cables (one of which was defective).

We had 48 for Las Vegas. It was a great time. I am very much looking forward to the next Pre-release in November.

The numbers above for Las Vegas are just a little generous; we actually had a good turnout of 44. Here is the breakdown: 9 in ten and under, 18 in eleven to fourteen, and 17 in fifteen plus. We ran lots of free GBA head-to-head battles and one 14-person GBA tournament. We also had a Pinball contest (on the new Nintendo Pinball game). We also did random drawings for Sandstorm packs each round. Everyone had a great time.

I don't have the exact # breakdown for Plano but hopefully someone will. I do know that total players starting was 101.
Guesstimating breakdown -
15+ = 40
11-14 = 36
-10 = 25.

I also know that after all was said & done & various people had dropped out there was still like 61 total players listed with rankings.

A very nice turnout!

The numbers are looking decent. I'll post the Colorado results this Sat after we run ours.

Just one question. Did anyone see people staying away due to the $20 cost? I've heard a few complaints from my kids about the cost (until I explained the amount of product and possible prizes they'd be getting).

I keeped my Entry Fee at the R&S Challenge amount, and I know a couple other tournament locations did also. It seemed to work well for me, we had 55 players show up and a ton of fun.

 The turnout for the "Plano, Texas EX-Sandstorm Prerealease" was 103-players. There were about ten players at the beginning of the tournament that could not make the tournament and their promos and product was set aside to be given to them later. The break down of the age groups is as follows: (10 & under: 27-players), (11-14: 37-players), and (15 & Over: 39-players). :D

The "GBA Ruby & Sapphire" side event had 48-players. We ran six 8-player tournaments. Great idea Nintendo, the kids and adults loved it!!! :D We ran "Modified & Unlimited Constructed 8-Player Tournaments" as side events, also.

Except for a few problems with the computer pairings and the deck registration sheet with the younger kids, the tournament went quite well with this large of a turnout. :(

 Thank you to the players that drove from Moore, Oklahoma and the Houston area that attended. :thumb: And a big thank you to the "Dallas/Fort Worth" Pokemon fan base for attending. You guys are the greatest!!! :thumb: :thumb: We can't wait until it is time to put on the next Prerelease Event.

Very nice turn out Heidi. And some players say that Pokemon is dead. I think we are starting to see the second life of the game, now that Nintendo is putting some fun back into it with the tournaments.

Did you have 103 players play in the Sandstorm tournament? or does that number included that 48 players that played in the side events? Still a very very nice turnout for your area. :thumb:

We had 103-players in the "EX-Sandstorm Tournament" that paid their $15.00/head. We had 48 in the "GBA" Tournament. Those that played in the "GBA" also played in the "EX-Sandstorm". (If it had not rained earlier in morning, the numbers would have been higher.) :D

We have some hardcore/die-hard Pokemon players in the D/FW area. They traveled to Oklahoma, Houston, and Austin to play in the SuperBattle Tournaments earlier in the year. Oh yes, Moore, Oklahoma has these type of Pokemon players, also. :thumb: :thumb:

 Have a Premier Event for Pokemon and they will COME!!! :
