Pokemon-ex is different from Pokemon-EX. Pokemon-ex existed in sets starting with Ruby and Sapphire up until Power Keepers. Pokemon-EX exist in sets starting with Next Destinies to the present. Cards that specifically affect Pokemon-ex do not affect Pokemon-EX and vice versa.

Well, I like Pokemon ex (any) but lately, cards being made against them have been suspect at best with the exception of the obvious 2.
