Base Set, Jungle, and Fossil Booster packs

I went to the mall yesterday and the card shop there has single packs of Base Set, Jungle, and Fossil for $5 each. They said this would possibly the last time they'll have those three sets in stalk. They're selling them for $5 a pack. Is this a good price for these old sets?

No, that's horrible!
You can get them at discount prices if you look around, but I certainly wouldn't pay over retail for them.
At least, not unless they're 1st Edition. And even then, while that would be a bargain for Base Set, it would be high for Jungle and Fossil.
You're in the US, right?

Yeah, those are US prices and the packs on display weren't first edition. But it's a card shop at a shopping mall so I wasn't surprised that the packs were that expensive.

Well, they're available online much cheaper. And this would be a bad investment since CyberManetric EX sounds like he is trying to make some money.

There were just so many of these old cards made, they're not rare.
