Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Bugs and Errors

Right now I can barely even load a page on this site. Can't reply without getting an error, can't load anything, can't do anything. Hopefully this reply goes through.

Got this email from the hosing company for the PokeGym/Compendium server:

We are currently experiencing an issue with the hard drive. We are backing up data and preparing a drive swap on the server.

During this time, you may experience a slow server response time, or server timeouts.

We are working to fix the issue rapidly.

I don't know if this accounts for our outrages today, though.

No, i think the election is the cause of that.... :D

Too funny typos in one message! Yee hah! :D

On topic, I think we have some messed up topics due to the issues with the host. So, have patience if you have problems getting to some pages or posting on some topics.

Folks we added some security to the Gym tonite. So far, we've found that Norton Internet Security and Norton Personal Firewall default settings can prevent you from posting. For this site, http://www.pokegym.net/, follow the steps outlined in this support message from Norton:

http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...6bc7005c3bc6/b9b47ad7eddd343b88256c6b006a85a8

Sorry for the inconvenience. The new security prevents us from having a board shutdown to clean up trash from Malware that is now targeting vBulletin, our forum software.

Thanks to Master Hunter Zero for testing this fix and to SD Pokemom for providing the clue (as usual, eh?).

Okay, I have a slight problem and it is irritating me like crazy. I post on a thread and then hit suscribed threads on the box that comes down when you click quick links. But the box I posted on is still bold so I either accidently click on it later thinking a new post has been made, or I check the thread again. If I check it again, it goes back to normal. LMK if this can be fixed.

Thanks,
Metal Master

for some reason, when i opened up this forum, all i got was

<!--

don't know what that means, but just in case it means something....

FYI - all links in a post here @ the 'Gym that point to other threads or posts at PokeGym will need to be edited to add the string "forums/" between "pokegym.net/" and "showpost" or "showthread" (without the quotes, of course)...

trying to delete pm's, and keep getting...

Invalid Private Message specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the webmaster

edit: and they magically deleted even tho refreshing kept showing them! nm onderland ;/

All the images on pokegym are not working like the avatars and the add reply button.

Same problem. I can load pages and post just fine, but the 'Gym looks really ugly when no images at all work (smilies, avatars, the whole thing, except the banner ads).

Every single image on pokegym is not working.(The icons, smilies etc.) Is anyone else have the same problem as I am? Also the boxes where you post have turned gray.

I hope the info below helps.

OK first off, let me dispel some rumors:

1. Old versions of Windows, including Windows ME, see the images as good as new versions.

2. You don't need to change browsers to see our images.

We turned on hotlink protection to make sure that people couldn't use our bandwidth and images via their web pages. We've just started adding graphical content and needed to do this to go forward with more.

So, what is wrong?

Your browser needs to pass the REFERRER information to our site.

The server now checks the referrer info to make sure you linked our image from our pages; if not, the image will not be served.

Some browsers can turn off referrer - this is considered a privacy feature. This way as you browse from site to site, the next site in the chain can't tell which site you were just on.

Also, some firewalls BLOCK transmission of the referrer, see these instructions if you use Norton Firewall/Internet Security:

http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...6bc7005c3bc6/b9b47ad7eddd343b88256c6b006a85a8

Otherwise, you'll have to find the referrer privacy feature in your browser and turn it off for the Gym's URLs which are http://pokegym.net and http://www.pokegym.net.
